So last night I was chatting to a couple who asked me to come over. I explained (as it says in my profile) I have kids and therefore meets needed careful planning to which they replied “we have kids so have people round and play in the living room as we can’t get sitters, it’s Ok though as the kids have never woken up we just ask our guests to be quiet” Now is it me or is this a little inappropriate... since I declined their kind offer they posted a shitty status about time wasters and where are all the people that were actually interested in meeting... I’ve not been on here all that long but is meeting with your kids upstairs the done thing??

Makes me go cold. How do they know the kids haven't woken up and seen something? They'll be damaged adults.

Personally I wouldn’t do a meet while kids are at home.

Neither would go to a meet where kids are upstairs sleeping

In my opinion you did the right thing

We have kids and wouldn’t consider inviting others for play with kids in the house at all,nor would we consider going anywhere with kids supposedly asleep upstairs no way

See I would never consider doing anything like that with my kids in the house, I thought maybe I was being unreasonable glad I’m not on my own. It’s bad enough lookin my 13 year old in the face at breakfast knowing she may have heard me and her dad going at it the night before but meets are something else!!

It’s so wrong and potentially exposing the kids to goodness knows what. If an adult wants to take a chance and invite a total stranger over for sex, that’s their call. But if that stranger gets violent / noisy / scary and the kids are exposed to it, that is just unacceptable. Why would any parent take that risk with their kids?

Hell no, that's not right. How would they explain if they woke up and at what state of dress would everyone be in? Not too bad as a social only but I still don't think it's right.

I don’t accommodate, maybe if I knew the person well from repeat meets I may however I would never bring a stranger into my home while my children were at home.

For me, the worry isn't about "what if the kids see something? ".

Call me paranoid, but the person who comes over, even if you've had a social before, could turn out to be a complete psycho/axe murderer - if they hurt us, they hurt us, but we are not about to subject our kids to that.

Their home is their safe place. Their haven.

So that's also a big fat no from us...
