Just a thought, a friend of mine on here is moving over the next few weeks and in my line of work i,m in a position to help him therefore keeping his costs down, it's occurred to me that everyone on here has a skill or ability to help others, no strings attached of course !! If there's attraction then there is but mainly let's try to help each other out by skill swapping, I'm in logistics so here to help anyone locally with moving bits here and there let's see how it goes shall we ??

I'm a part-time underwater ceramics and metallics engineer, and I fill the rest of my working hours volunteering at an animal rescue center teaching orphaned gibbons how to climb trees.

Ok on a serious note friends and family i am more than happy to help as they would for me.

Inviting random people to my house i do not know - id rather not. Plus im a proud perdon (some may say stubborn) i prefer to do things myself if i can

Actually OP that really is my day job.

Think it's an interesting idea but I'm not sure how successful it will be on here.

If your serious about it why not link in with some of the local community charities..homelrss disabled etc eye. There will be many near you and they have proper structures in place to coordinate support where it's most needed.

Seriously?

have you any idea how itchy a fake gibbon suit is dude?

I mean, I itch in places I didn't even know I could itch, and I've lost count of the number of times one of those little shits... erm, gibbons, I mean little sweet gibbons, has bitten me.... more serious my ass!

I can help people feel better....no, i really can! I think the idea is good but the practicality not so much. I do try to live with the "Pay it forward" approach though.

I got sacked from my washing-up job.... erm, I mean from being an underwater ceramics and metallic engineer, so I decided to start my own business, I specialise in fitting stairlifts in bungalows, I've advertised lots, just waiting for the phone to start ringing off the hook.... any moment now...this time next Rodney, we'll be millionaires!
