Just wondering if peoples standards are different in terms of when they are online to whether they are out actually approaching someone in the flesh?

Which standards in particular?

I maintain the same standards of hygiene, politeness, decency etc. I don't meet men offline so I have nothing to compare to.

Personally I think it’s different, you have different standards for all different people in your life!

The kind of person you want around your children

The kind of person you are good friends with

The kind of person you would have sex with

The kind of person you might fall in love with

All different surely?

we all have ideal types and things we would like in a person.

Much easier to tell if you find someone attractive in person too.. plus someone you might not find attractive online could surprise you in person with a brilliant personality and confidence

Haha what I meant is you wouldn’t need to find someone attractive to be a good friend!

You wouldn’t need to think a person is suitable to be around your children to have sex with them!

But yes in a partner you are looking for all the qualities to line up

When a man speaks to a woman in real life, he has to consider if he would be willing to introduce this woman to his friends and family... no fear of that on here and he can put his ego aside and act purely on his primal instincts

I don't approach people in the real world

I occasionally pluck up the courage on here to approach people I find attractive. Always those I find attractive though, and I wouldn't meet them without making sure we click. Why would I lower standards just for sex?!
