HIV Testing Week

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

It's HIV Testing Week again.

If you haven't had a little prick in a while stop by one of the pop up testing stations or drop by the GUM clinic.

It's better to know and receive treatment than be a spreader.

I have it done quite often, as it stands I currently have my bloods done every two weeks. Sometimes they throw the HIV, hepatitis test in there too.

Normally before changing onto immuno suppressants.

I do find it a little strange that they ask me if I want the HIV test doing rather than just doing it anyway. Seems a bit backwards to me.

I'm all for promoting safer sex. I get my tests done by the fabulous people from the Terrence Higgins Trust who attend the bi nights at The Vanilla on the first Friday of the month, and then text me the results during the week.

Free condoms and lube too if you would like it.

"Bumping as a reminder"

Great move Lickety.

Early detection and treatment is ideal.

Well done to the VA for this, I didn't know they did this. A lot of people on the scene surprisingly dont bother to get checked as often as they should and the option to test at a club is a great way to reach people that can't or won't prioritise it in day to day life

I get a full check every 3-4 months, very open with GUM doctors about what I do.

I don’t understand why more don’t get checked.

Also people should know about PEP and the 72 hour window.

Stay safe

Problem with PEP and PrEP is that people have an HIV fear.

But ignorance of all the other STI's.

I got my monthly sti test done at V.A. on Friday night too and also had the hiv test done as it was worlds Aids day by the lovely ladies. Once again all clear so that's 45 years with no infection of any sort

The nurse at my local clinic recommended PrEP

It's cheap, and anything that adds to the safety factor is surely worth the cost of keeping your health

Me too, lovely, and I totally support the work of the Terrence Higgins Trust, and I think it's fabulous that the VA invite them to attend. I also got all my test clear, and it's a thumbs up from me. I wish more clubs would offer this service.

For those in London, Dean Street Express clinic (34 Dean Street) is awesome! Pick a slot for next day from their website, full blood and urine tests in and out in 15 mins, with results the same day.
