You know those meets? It's all perfect, you've chatted, for all excited and worked up, you get to the door and all you can hear is them screaming at their kids to go to bed :/ I know life is life and all that but it is incredibly off putting! Anyone else had similar experiences? I'm now sat in the car wondering wether I should wait a bit and knock the door or not..

If that was me I would just leave, I'm not up for playing while their children are at home. I would send them a message to explain why.

If they don't like it, tough luck. They should have said their children were at home.

Jeez, would you seriously consider going into a strangers house and shagging her in the front room whilst the kids are asleep upstairs?! Do you really want one of the, to wander in and see your naked arse shagging their mum if they have woken up or are feeling poorly and come to find her?

Honestly I'd just go home, why wouldn't she arrange the meet for later when she knows kids will defo be asleep or better still a hotel meet ?

I wouldn't and haven't had any meets in my home where my children have to live

Politely explain that you’re uncomfortable attending whilst the kids are there (making assumptions that you are), don’t just leave her high and dry. Then maybe re-arrange a more mutually agreeable rendezvous.

No one can be positive that their kids won't walk in. You can't predict bad dreams, illness etc.

I'd just go without if my only option was to meet with my kids around.

Not in a million years would I enter that house let alone play! It's one thing popping over to see a fab friend socially when kids are tucked up in bed...but to have a total stranger over to fuck you when your kids are in the house let alone still awake is just wrong if you ask me...

This is my thought too. You could be letting anyone into your house for Christ's sake and what should be the most important, special people in your life are lying in bed upstairs listening to Mummy get pumped on the sofa.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

Leg it.

Hmmm invite a stranger into the house with your kids there. I know I'm bad but that would be a line I couldn't cross. Wouldn't out her in danger like that.

"Politely explain that you’re uncomfortable attending whilst the kids are there (making assumptions that you are), don’t just leave her high and dry. Then maybe re-arrange a more mutually agreeable rendezvous. "

+1 for this .

It would be rude to just not turn up without any explanation.

What I like to do is bring a bottle of the host's hostess preferred tipple or a little something to snack. That way you can break the ice/ settle the nerves/ gauge the vibe of the meeting. At worst you take it all home because your date is not in the mood now. You might have a pleasant wine and cheese evening and you will probably meet again.

I've realised I'm very cynical and not very trusting, how do you now the woman in the house was actually the woman you were talking to online and not just a wind up?

It's bad enough inviting a stranger round when your children are home, but not telling said stranger you have children or that they would be home seems even more bizarre.

Hotels or clubs only

Like most clues up parents we endeavour to keep our homes as a safe sanctuary for them and I am very careful as to who actually knows where I live especially with some random meet

Bad enough with fb sharing info with their ‘people you might know’ bullshit
