"I like someone in balance with me. I'd get bored with dominance or submission all the time.

My long term partner is a bit of both, but never to the extremes.

I prefer a man that is equal...why are they the only choice?

I like both. Well, I like a submissive man, it brings out my bitchy side.

I wouldn't say I like dominant men as such, im in no way submissive. I do like a confident and assertive man though.

You may be surprised to know that all women want different things. They even change their minds occasionally.

Just so long as you can tell the difference between confident and control freak, and sexually submissive and a meek person.

Equal or at least assertive if a ‘nornal’ Meet or dominant if D/s meet. Submissive men do nothing for me sexually.

99% Dominant. But very very occasionally I do enjoy giving a slightly more submissive man a whole new experience

Depends on my mood.

Dominant, confident, assertive my main preference.

I would never be happy with a submissive partner, I'd probably break them.

I think in general people prefer stereotypes. I.e, if one person is going to take a more 'dominant' role than it's usually the man.

I don't think many women genuinely find submissive men to be more attractive (even considering that Fab, is not completely representative of the population as a whole).

Of course 'dominant' is a state in which a scenario can be created where another party can allow themselves to be turned on by the freedom from relinquishing control. This is by no means applicable to any abusive wannabes and should not provide an excuse for anyone wanting to take advantage of someone..

My understanding is that submissive:

does not mean meek, (as you can get brats);

- can be a person dominant in other walks of life but obedient to his domme.

On another website on a site that can't be mentioned in regard to a similar discussion a domme put it something like this: I want my submissive to be lions that have been tamed by me they have to be special why else have them.

Think Boudicca and her warriors, or for the more old school Modesty Blaise and Willie Garvin. Because domination is not all about sex and sensuality but mainly (not in all cases) mutual respect.

Personally I think submission is a stronger characteristic than domination, in both men and women.

I would not have someone do to me what I do to some subs/bottoms. Not happenning.

Without the resilience and the giving that comes with submission, domination is nothing (unless you are and out and out sadistic f#ck and they are out there).

I accept some dommes like their submissives meek and mild. My point is that like dom's, male submissive are in different flavours.

I like dominant men. I hate it when men are delicate with me. And I detest men that are subs. But then i go for the whole tall, muscly arms tattoo type guys.

Dominant.

I hate having to decide everything or be asked what position etc. Might be laziness but I like a man to take charge.

That may be a fantasy, a type, a cliche, or a whatever you want to call it. But it has nothing to do with whether someone is the right person to relinquish control to.

That is just laziness I'm afraid. What if the man asked you to do 20 sit-ups?

Isn’t that for me to decide

Yes it’s a type and that type of men are generally more dominant in my experience.

However I have been in the fetish community for many years and I know the type of sub I classify myself as and if I was looking for a D/s relationship I would look much further than the “type” of man I go for.

Dominant for me, but a naturally dominant bloke, with that self assured quality rather than play acting.

My profile says I like 'considerately assertive' people (not just men!) I like it when they are confident enough to take control, but as I'm not naturally, or often, submissive as such, I'm just as likely to wrest that control back before too long! I quite like the 'power struggle' thing at times

Yep....in a funny kind of way, knowing that you've pushed him to the edge and he's overcome with desire, chucking you about the bedroom, means you're actually in control
