Not having mine again this year, last one I had 4 years ago gave me the fucking flu for 9 months!

ALWAYS decline now, and not had a bad spell like it since.

I usually decline. But as I care for an old lady I should have it really.

Flu is a terrible thing to have. I've had it twice in my life and never wish to have it again.

If you can lift your head off the pillow you don't have flu.

Sorry to sound harsh but flu kills people and even very fit youngsters will be ill for about three weeks and under the weather for weeks after that. Flu vaccinations don't protect against the common cold or similar viruses either.

I always have a flu vaccination.

I decline mine every year for the last 6 years. Before that I still got the flu every year as the jab only covers one or two strains. I think it’s better to save my body from all the nasty chemicals they add to it

I've always declined mine...haven't had the flu (proper flu) for a looooong time...

No doubt I'll be struck down by a mutant flu virus now...

It can't gave given you flu. Just a coincidence.

The flu vaccine does not contain a live virus, so cannot possibly give you the flu.

I have a chronic breathing problem, so always have an early flu jab

Never had one before but my 90 year old father persuaded me to this year. I don't think I have ever had a bad flu, and I really don't wish to, so without a hubby around to look after me I reckon I will get the jab from now on.

The flu jab can't give you flu, unless the person giving you the jab has it and infects you.

It's totally inactive elements that are in it, that prime your defences against the top most likely strains that are predicted

"I'm on industrial strength vitamin d whilst I keep forgetting to have the flu jab"

This is much better. The flu jab is virtually worthless and the potential side effects are massively downplayed.

This article by an M.D explains it very well, for those that bother to read https://www.globalresearch.ca/flu-shots-fosamax-and-pharmaceutical-fakery-the-common-use-of-misleading-and-deceptive-statistics/5618166

It can induce flu like symptoms that can start straight away.

Normally the symptoms are not as bad as the flu and pass within 2-3 days.

However there are bleeding edge cases that can cause you to be sick for a long time after getting it.

It's a tiny percent of the population who can react this way.

Never had it. Never would. Personal preference though... As a health worker i likely *should*, but i am exposed to many a thing all year round. And as a rule, touch wood, im rarely unwell.

Hope you feel better soon OP!

Had it today for the first time and never again!!!!

Half an hour after I had it I started to feel really unwell with chest pain and clammy skin followed by tingling in my hands and itching all over. Went to the bathroom and thought I was going to keel over. I came downstairs and sat on the sofa hoping it would quickly pass but just got worse and worse. I ended up dialling nhs111 who sent an ambulance. The paramedics checked me over as my symptoms pointed to a heart attack but everything was fine, it was just a bad reaction to the the jab.

Fortunately I’m ok apart from having a bit of an itchy rash but it cost me a day off work and scared the bejesus out of me and hubby

Think I'll pass thanks

You will be dying if you catch proper influenza. That said no reason to have the jab if you aren't at increased risk of contracting it .

No adverse effects for most people. In my case I had anaphylaxis and needed treatment from paramedics

You reacted to an ingredient in the vaccine. Not a reason to stop promoting vaccines. A heck of lot more people would die from Measles, TB, Flu, meningitis if we stopped vaccinating because some were unfortunate enough to have anaphylaxis. Treat the herd not the individual.

I've only had the flu (the real deal 40 degree temperature one) once in my entire life. No matter how unpleasant it was i will never have the flu jab, in fact i have never been vaccinated for anything since i left school, because i believe we are starting down a path that will ultimately lead to our own destruction.

We seem to want to vaccinate against everything these days, we use chemicals that promise to kill 99.9% of all bacteria, we hand out antibiotics like sweeties. Where is this going to leave us when these things no longer work or when we have to stop using them due to the environmental cost?

We pump ourselves with all kinds of unknown and noxious substances at the behest of the medical profession when all the while they are mere puppets of the fat cat pharmaceutical industry. This is not something i wish to sign up for.

Indeed, it is my belief that the more prevention there is, the less the need for environmentally harmful products like antibiotics!!
