Can you be to nice and polite in your first message dose it send the wrong signal or bo you need to be a little brash with it ??

I dont think being nice is a crime, but if you give cheesy compliments adding to that, or 'bbe' 'sweet' and so on that is instant turn off.

I would be rubbish at being cheesy I do get where your coming from as I think cheezy is very amusing but putting it into a message to someone you don't know I just can't do it

I don't msg 1st well if I do it's either forum related or she something very special but both them are rare. I refuse to be the same as the majority of other single male on here. I'm not desperate and I refuse to be a performing seal hoping for a few crumbs of attention to be thrown my way. I'm worth so much more.....

I am always polite in my first messages. In fact, I'm not lewd generally till the woman initiates that she wants the conversation to go that way. If I don't get a reply, I presume it is because the woman has no interest in how I look or maybe the distance, or if they have looked at my profile, some other reason such as me having a [approving] partner or that my profile doesn't sound like we would get on well enough to progress to meeting each other

The only person that can affect your chances on here is you - blaming others is an easy (and some would say lazy or negative) trap to fall into, sure there are some on here that have totally the wrong attitude but they're only to blame for their own lack of success, not yours

If your approach isn't working, take a look at what you can change to improve the chances of it doing so, be that the content of the messages you write, the quality of your profile or pics, or whether attending clubs or socials might be an option.

i find being polite works for me ive made quite a few friends etc .but i think it also depends on who your messaging .read thrir profile do they match yours and message accordingly...

I dont think, there is a one fits all approach or the perfect message. What works with one person, might not with another.

In all honesty, the same message might get a different reaction from me, depending on my mood, what we're looking for at that time etc.

I think sometimes, it boils down to a bit of luck and catching someone at the 'right' time.
