Platinum wedding anniversary

So the Queen and Prince Philip have been married 70 years

Couldn't think of anything worse personally, but does anyone see themselves getting there if both parties are still lucky enough to be alive? I know several couples on here have been together for ages...and interested to gauge thoughts

I bet HRHs have had it easier than most ... in they had a row they could have separate bedrooms half a mile away

Ahhh I like to think that they do!

Aside from all the politics surrounding their position I think they have been a wonderful couple together. There is that lovely pic of them where Philip is dressed in his uniform to surprise the Queen and she is laughing so genuinely and lovingly at him. I want that!

I’m guessing you’re not a fan of the royals? I think it’s great they’ve lasted that long.

No issue with the royals at all ... this was totally aimed towards their seventy years of marriage ... just personally couldn't imagine being with just one person for so long (and especially not when I was in my late teens/early 20s)

I can see us getting there. We have been together 30 years and married for 25.......... still sleep in the same bed too........ with each other also lol

If my parents live I'm sure they will too ... they are a good example but it would never have happened to me

I think it’s lovely and although there’s is a slightly different situation being Royals.

I love it when I hear of normal couples staying together a long time, for you to have that connection with someone that makes you want to spend your life with them and not give up when the going gets hard. I think we all give up too easily these days and then afterwards think well if I had opened up more about this or discussed that with him it may have worked.
