It does indeed - so down to 7 - think Susan and Molly are probably next in line to go and then apart from Debbie and Alexandra I think it's anyone's guess as to who out of the remaining three will make the final.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I was sad to see Jonny and Oti go. I thought their dance off was better than Debbie's. She seemed stiff.

Yes I think those two as well. My favourite from the start has been Alexandra, but I think Davood is a likely person to win now.

I felt that Jonny's performances had plateaued somewhat these past two or three weeks. His days were numbered sadly. Debbie struggled a little bit this week but still did a good job and didn't deserve to be in the dance off. It's going to be so hard to predict who'll be the next to go now.

I ADORED Joe this week, I saw some details that I've never seen in a quick step before. Marvellous!

And he's also rather handsome.

I think the DO could come with a surprise this week.

Not keen on Debbie, but her Argentine Tango was something else! I think Susan and Mollie in the dance off and Susan to go. Thought Alexandra's Rumba was weak, no real passion and her legwork was not great.

I actually think it could be Susan and Gemma in the dance off - I actually liked Gemma's dance personally but the judges didn't and suspect that will have an influence.

Think it's time for Susan to go though and suspect she knows it too from that goodbye wave she did at the end.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away & Spain

SCD WEEK 10 REVIEW.

JOE/QUICKSTEP:

Going first, with some clever choreography from Katya pushing Joe in a mix in levels of steps, some I’ve not seen on SCD, he was awarded two 9’s & two 10’s in a challenging & delightful routine.

ALEXANDRA/RHUMBA:

The Judges were super hard on Alex this week with their 7,8,8,9 scores criticising the lack of extension & hold/drag that the Rhumba requires. For once her emotion seemed slightly lacking, yet still delivering a performance most would’ve been pleased with.

GEMMA/SAMBA:

From watching the ITT training sessions I could tell Gemma was going to struggle with the bounce needed in the Samba. Latin isn’t her forte. This was addressed by Alijaz incorporating some “sleepy” steps into the choreography, which sadly didn’t pay off, resulting in three 6’s & a 7 from the Judges.

MOLLIE/QUICKSTEP:

Like Gemma, Mollie is more comfortable in Ballroom, keeping her energy for most of her routine. However, on a 2nd viewing I spotted a little mis-step JUST before the end where AJ possibly hoped to split/drag Mollie but she either forgot or she ran out of steam. (Watch it back. Craig noticed it). Two 7’s, 8 & 9 seemed a fair score considering.

DAVOOD/WALTZ:

A massive improvement from his Viennese Waltz, Davood delivered a “leading” man Waltz guiding Nadia for the duration of a traditional dance. This beautiful couple delivered a romantic, almost ethereal routine with three 9’s & (I felt an under marked) 8 from Craig.

DEBBIE/ARGENTINE TANGO:

How could Debbie not come back from last week’s DO given the expectation of the AT? However she just missed out on 40 with Craig & Darcy awarding 9 each. Back to something more age appropriate Debbie looked the part as she nailed home with an eye catching routine.

SUSAN/AMERICAN SMOOTH:

With 4,6,5,6 scores from the Judges Susan needs every viewer vote to avoid the DO. However I never stopped smiling throughout her entire routine. What she lacks in technique she makes up for in charm, enthusiasm & sheer entertainment, rarely failing to make the audience love her & delight in learning to dance.

PASODOBLATHON:

Pretty much doing steps from their previous Paso’s the results affected the Leader Board as follows...

Susan 1 (22)

Mollie 2 (33)

Gemma 3 (28)

Davood 4 (39)

Debbie 5 (43)

Joe 6 (44)

Alexandra 7 (39)

With Mollie, Gemma & Susan fighting it out at the bottom it would need the public’s backing to save them from the dreaded DO, though at this stage it will be sad to lose any of them from front runners Alexandra, Davood, Debbie & Joe.

It’s going to make for an interesting Results Show tonight.

Thanks Random. Who knows what will happen in the results show. Still wondering what happened to Alexandra, she is normally so passionate, but they just didn't seem to click. I was so looking forward to this dance, as Rhumba was always my favourite, when I was dancing. There seemed to be no pressure in her feet. Davood's dance was just so dreamy, I see him to win, at the moment!

I wondered if it was due to her BF not being in the audience this week, that she’s ticked off with Gorka reportedly chasing Gemma, that she’s just tired, or that she just wasn’t comfortable in the Rhumba. Only she knows, but you’re right, she wasn’t placing her foot quite right to create that required hip swivel (as she can take quite long ‘strides’ even tho she’s not really tall IRL). She’s still a fantastic dancer though.

Did anyone else find the Pasa Double-a-thon a bit annoying? Just seemed to be a real jumble of individual dances going on and had the effect of making it like watching the dodgems down at the fair - know it's not supposed to be co-ordinated but not sure the Paso is made for that type of thing in the way other dances are.

Yes agree with you, Gemini. It was difficult to see who was doing what and probably wasn't the best dance to choose for it.

My least favourite dance and I think only Georgia May Foote has done a rumba I liked. Alexandra struggled. Won't be surprised if she's in the dance off with Molly.

I still think as an all round dancer Alexandra has been the best this series and expect her blip with the Rumba last weekend will spur her on to dance better the next few weeks so my money is on her - final three of her, Debbie and one of Joe, Gemma and Davood

A Galaxy Far, Far Away & Spain

STRICTLY REVIEW WEEK 11:

GEMMA/QUICKSTEP:

Opening the show & never looking more beautiful or elegant, Gemma gave us some lovely nods to the movie & a lively quickstep across the floor. I felt this suited her down to the ground. 6,7,8,8 Scores.

MOLLIE/RHUMBA:

This seemed to take an eternity to start & seemed more an audition for the role of Sandy than a genuine attempt at a Rhumba for me. The Judges seemed split with 6,7,9,9 scores but I felt this was totally overscored with the 9’s.

JOE/SAMBA:

Like Craig, I couldn’t visualise a Samba to this number, but the boy (about) pulled off some technical & theatrical tricks that wowed the Judges with 9,9,9,& a 10.

DEBBIE/AMERICAN SMOOTH:

Another age appropriate showcase, mostly in the air, for Debbie which wouldn’t be out of place on a West End Stage. The routine still managed to squeeze in enough of the dance to impress the Judges with 9,10,10,10.

DAVOOD/ARGENTINE TANGO:

The 1st male celeb to tackle the AT I wanted it to be epic. This was a slow burner but, despite a slight lack of polish, Davood executed a dramatic finale in a brave attempt twisting Nadia like a cape to get 7,8,7,7 from the Judges.

ALEXANDRA/CHARLESTON:

Another occasion where I diverged from the Judges as I felt the pair were not together in timing & neither was the band/singers. The outfits weren’t to my taste either & didn’t reflect Mary Poppins but the Judges made them joint top with 9,10,10,10.

With Debbie/Alexandra the top joint favourites, Joe/Mollie in the middle & Gemma/Davood languishing unfairly at the bottom I actually preferred Joe, Gemma & Davood but I’m struggling to guess who might be in the DO. It might be Mollie, but at this stage we might get another shock for the bottom two.

I was a little disappointed with Davood's dance tonight. I know it was movie week, but that is such a dramatic dance and it needed dramatic tango music. Thought Debbie was very good tonight. Think Gemma and Mollie should be in the DO, but you never know at this stage!

I’m not sure either Debbie or Alex are popular enough to be outright winners. One of the remaining underdogs without prior dance experience may snatch it at the last minute, but it will depend on their dances in the final ultimately.

Didn't catch up with it till yesterday as was at the Manchester Social on Saturday - was pretty shocked to see Alexandra down there in the dance off - wasn't the best Charleston I've seen but wasn't awful either. For me it should have been Mollie and Gemma, although wasn't surprised to see Davood in it either.

I'm now predicting an Alexandra, Debbie and Joe final three and would like to see Joe win it purely because of his previous lack of dancing skills of any kind.

For me it should have been Mollie and Gemma, although wasn't surprised to see Davood in it either.

I'm now predicting an Alexandra, Debbie and Joe final three and would like to see Joe win it purely because of his previous lack of dancing skills of any kind.

Yes, Gemini, that's who I think, at this point, should be in the final too. Nice pants btw! "

This for me too.

Also I like his relaxed approach. There is something desperate about Debbie and Alexandra I don't like.

I know what you mean - I think they're in it to win it, at all costs - whereas Joe just appears to be enjoying the ride and seeing where it takes him

Interesting night. I would think Gemma and Mollie will be in the DO. Alexandra danced very well and I think Debbie was overmarked. My favourite to win now is Joe

Can't argue with that summary - would prefer Mollie to go out of those two her simpering is starting to grate a little

Yes, you're right Gemini, she does come across a bit 'desperate' at times, but I would think the public may vote her in, because they make such a sweet couple !

She's more annoying than Alexandra and that takes some doing. Still team Joe here.

And that's exactly the reason I'd like him to win - apart from Gemma all the others have some element of musicality/dance background to an extent.

Mind you I'd quite like Alexandra to go out tonight if only to get to see Darcey dressed in nothing but Bruno's Speedos!!

Yeah, that was funny! I think she said,' I will get in Bruno's Speedos' I think he thought it might be whilst he was still wearing them!

A Galaxy Far, Far Away & Spain

STRICTLY REVIEW WEEK 12:

JOE/AMERICAN SMOOTH:

Looking assured & polished Joe impressed the Judges with a routine that wowed with some lovely lines, nifty footwork & complicated lifts to give him 8,9,9,9 scores.

ALEXANDRA/VIENNESE WALTZ:

Dressed to impress Alex floated effortlessly through an ethereal Viennese Waltz in a dreamy routine that had the Judges effusing over it giving her a 9,10,10,10 marking.

MOLLIE/SAMBA:

I thought Mollie showed a little improvement in her Latin which is normally her Achilles Heel. The Judges were right however that her timing wasn’t as natural as it should be & Latin isn’t her forte giving her a low 4,7,7,6 placement.

GEMMA/RHUMBA:

Gemma concentrated very hard on her straight legs so much she didn’t let her hips & upper body give the continuous sway needed which made her Rhumba look a little reserved, yet her connection to Alijaz was still evident for most of her routine. The Judges liked most but not everything about her dance awarding her 7,8,7,8 marks.

DEBBIE/JIVE:

Undeniably energetic, I disagreed with some of the Judges that her retraction on the kicks & flicks was all they should be. Some positives with straight chicken walks, energy & good timing I felt she didn’t point her toes in her kick flicks as much as I wanted, nonetheless getting scores of 7,9,9,9.

JOE/ARGENTINE TANGO:

An inventive, daring, contemporary AT Joe wowed the audience & for the most part the Judges with only a minimal wobble but a climactic ending that drew applause from everyone & the Judges resulting in an 8,9,9,9 mark.

ALEXANDRA/SALSA:

The consummate performer was never going to disappoint with a red hot nuclear Salsa that knocked Jay McGuinness off my Top Spot for best Salsa of Strictly. It had everything that got me wanting to party with her. Mixing the passion of her Paso, the steam of her Tango, the joy of her Jive, & the star quality of her Quickstep the Judges “finally” got out all 4 x 10’s.

MOLLIE/WALTZ:

The emotion was evident in a beautiful Waltz where Mollie became slightly overcome by her final dance. For me her best dance where she exiled all my previous thoughts of her Latin & Samba dances by showing us her most lyrical Ballroom routine, rewarded by the Judges with 8’s across the board.

GEMMA/TANGO:

The attitude was there, but the shaping was minimally off in a determined Tango from Gemma. Nonetheless she drew on the strength she showed in her Paso to deliver a strong routine worthy of the 4 x 8’s from the Judges.

DEBBIE/FOXTROT:

Closing with an elegant Foxtrot that climaxed looking more of a solo routine Debbie mainly looked fitting in a stylish routine that showcased her professionalism as an elder stateswoman of this Ballroom pearl. The Judges awarded her 8,9,9,10.

The Leader Board ended as follows:

79 Alexandra

70 Joe

70 Debbie

62 Gemma

56 Mollie

I’ll be in Paris tonight so won’t see the Results Show, but if the public votes reflect the Scoreboard it should be Gemma & Mollie in the DO, but depending on which dance the couples choose it might be the end of the road for Mollie unless Gemma ruins her own chances at a place in the Final.

So Random, as we expected, Mollie and Gemma in the DO. Mollie danced her waltz and Gemma danced her Tango. I think it was a pretty close call on the night, but felt that Gemma had more content in her dance and just had the edge. So sweet Mollie went out. She took the decision very graciously. So I think the correct three, Joe, Alexandra and Debbie, are in the final!

Yeah was a close call for sure but definitely think Gemma edged it but will probably be the first out in the final - really hoping Joe can pull it off and win outright as previously discussed

Thoroughly deserved - to be fair I thought Alexandra was the better dancer from the start as well as on the night - but when you take into account that Joe had no previous dancing/musical experience he's probably come the furthest

I agree Gemini. Alex was always the outright winner, but she has a west end background, so I was pleased that Joe won, because of all the extra effort he had to put in. I would have been equally pleased if Gemma had won, she too has gone from nothing to a competent dancer. great show and series

Just reading that he's done a lot of musical theatre, then haven't they all...he was just more likeable without the boo hoo backstory.

That said, would I have been able to face the world a year after my partner died or a month of my mum dying? Probably not, so kudos to them all.
