As much as things could be better, overall, I think my life's going quite well.

My only complaint is that it took me too long to get to this point, and it feels like there's never enough time to do everything I want to do.

I guess I just wish I knew myself better when I was younger, but at least I know my life is going in the right direction.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE IN 7 DAYS

By Paul McKenna

I didn’t want to

But my life was sooo shit... i had nothing to lose...

Since then, I have never thought I was just existing...

There are lots of Scientific personal development book out there.., and I’d get one that best matches the type of person you are...

And always read with an open mind...

But if you are happy just living day to day, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that...

Just try to find fun in everything you do x

A world of my own

I plod along. Sometimes I really struggle and its far from easy. I don't have my parents or extended family and there are times when I don't feel like I have anyone in my corner. Life continues to throw stuff at me. However I get through each one. I portray a strong independent woman and have for many years. As such people don't seem to accept I might actually not be. I have my 3 amazing sons, I enjoy my job and I love where we live. Compared to a few years ago thats great. Sadly now I face health challenges and its scary. So its a slightly different struggle. My mantra in life is that " its always ok in the end and if its not ok, it's not the end."

A bit of both. Just this year has been really shit for me. Never thought at 37 I would be in a marriage that I don't want to be in, in love with a bloke who I thought was great who turns out to be a complete bastard but I still love him after he's hurt me. And living in a house that I absolutely hate.

Oh we have things to aim for, we need a bigger house but not in a position to afford one where & with the outlook we currently have, the answer was to buy a bit into the field, sell what we have & then build next door. To do all that we had to save & also wait till I was 55 to release some pension funds.

So now we are finally going through the motions

So we had a target, the bumbling part is that we are not really that bothered about when we reach it, as long as we do

Life has ups and downs, but generally, I'm in profit...figuratively,not financially

Write down three small positives at the end of each day, as big or as small as you can find...things like a good cup of coffee, going to bathroom without your space being invaded by marauding children or smiling at a stranger.

The reason we like be our lives now is because we were both the kids with the poor background.

I love my life and try to make the most of it. Yes life is a rollercoaster ride but that's what keeps it interesting. Fight your way through the bad times and you'll come out stronger, and embrace the good times. If you're unhappy about something in your life then try and find ways to change it, or change your attitude towards it.

You can't change the past so no point overthinking it and still living there, the future will happen regardless so just deal with things as and when they happen, the best thing to do is live life a day at a time.

Don't worry and be happy

I've done a lot with my life so far, seen and done some awesome things, I'm financially secure, I've got some great hobbies and a lot of good friends. But underneath all that I've never quite been able to shake off that feeling that I'm not 100% happy and that I'm looking for something that may or may not exist whether it's the girl I'd fall hopelessly in love with or a job I'm passionate about rather than just doing for money. I don't have any problems or worries and financially secure enough to be retired at 57. Yet, there was something missing: purpose and direction I think.

That's why I'm looking to move out of London, buy a big old run down Victorian and do it up. The other half can and has built a house from scratch so we're planning on renovating our dream home in the country.

Hiding in the shadows

I love my life.

I have my health, fantastic (if slightly bonkers) kids, jobs I enjoy doing, the best of friends & some very special people to share it all with.

Life is good

I m hating my life right now. Lonely depressed im just existing. If i had not fucked up again i could have been in fun relationship with someone who loved me and having great sex. Instead i threw it away. Only good thing in my life is my son and me being this negative is shit for our relationship.??well you did ask

I have a gorgeous girlfriend, home, family and lots to look forward to, and not many worries.. But I still struggle a little with the black dog as Churchill called it..

The future is certainly looking brighter for me but its been a tough ride.. Chin up fella, time is a great healer and it will get easier..

Harry..

Life is great at the moment.

My plans are really starting to take shape and the future is bright. Just need to find the right girl (or hareem) to enjoy it with.

Life is so good.

I'm so lucky to be cherished by my man, have wonderful children and still manage a bit of sexy outdoor fun now and again...

Only blip is work's a drag. Wish I could retire

Pretty much everything is perfect. Even the man I'm dating is a racehorse trainer. Right now, there's nothing I would change

Life is truly extraordinary. It’s a most beautiful sunny, cold, crisp day, the trees are the most incredible colours on my drive to work and the music blasting makes me smile.

Things can be very tough for people but there are so many things to be thankful for

I like most of it most days. Some things could be improved but will take time.

Money, house, relationships, etc. The good days outweigh the bad though. Fab friends keep me going as well.

At the moment? It’s a ballache in parts and wonderful in others.

I just need a few things sorted and I’ll be able to move forward

Well I more and more come to the conclusion that I want someone different to who I have.

Yes I love my life but I have a wife who thinks it’s ok for me to be celibate as she has zero sex drive (I’m only 46 and quite young and fit and healthy)

I only come to Fabswingers to use it as porn and look at and read the profiles. Never met anyone though I have messaged a few.

Hardly ever go to the forums so.....HI

North Tyneside area (just saying??)

Thanks for all the comments - what a fantastic read

I feel pretty good today and appreciate my health and the roof over my head and money each month from a job that's bearable ( sometimes lol )

I'm trying to make other areas of my life better so I don't just bumble along.

It's exciting

If things are ok and you can see a way to make it better, that’s an excellent position to be in.

Go for it

We drifted along aimlessly for a few years.. Money was OK (ish) and we liked where we lived, a few ups and downs but nothing major.. then we lost two friends our age within weeks of each other!!

Major wake up call.. firstly to be grateful for what we had, and secondly to squeeze every bit of joy out of each day..

sounds easy right?

So we sat down one weekend and decided that we needed more time, and as whilst we didn't have loads of cash, but no debt either, we could "take the air out of the tyres" so to speak.

We sold up, and now live most of the year (mortgage free) in France. Not for everyone I know, as we also considered a canal boat live aboard in the UK.

Thing was, once we took that out of the equation, what we needed to earn each month was drastically reduced. So we can do what we like (within reason). And have a bit more time (in our case) to stand and stare.

We work on line retail sites, etc with stuff we enjoy. the odd "antiques road trip' from the french markets to the UK.

We manage to only have to come back here once every 3 months or so now, but quality of life is so much better!!

Now we have just re-read this and it sounds a bit boastful I guess, but I hope it re-enforces that you can make changes (small or big) to improve your life..key is in the recognising it first x

I feel the same. I was suicidal at one point years ago, there's people worse off than me. I Still feel I'm worthless nowadays but comfortable with it.
