I’ve seen a few status advertising private parties but charging a fee to attend...

Anyone arranged or been to one of these parties? I’m curious as to what exactly the fee is being charged for do you pay and bring a bottle or do you pay because drinks are provided?

Sorry if I’m being really thick lol

I was invited to a private party last year, they wanted 35 up front and another 35 on the night, apparently it was an exclusive appartment in the city centre with a hot tub, glass of bubbly on arival then up to me to mingle with the other people who attended........ I didn’t go

Go and support your local club instead rather than filling the pockets of people trying to just make a quick profit from hiring out an air b+b apartment for the night and overcharging people yo attend. Clubs have the social and play facilities, plus proper security, and will give you a broader choice of potential playmates as there will be potentially a couple of hundred people at a club, compared to 20-50 at your average private party.

Can’t say I blame you. So you would basically be paying £70 for a glass of bubbly? Lol

I do go to xtasia I love it, I wasn’t actually intending to attend one of these parties just curious as to what I’m paying an entrance fee for when it’s a house party in someone’s kitchen xx

swingers clubs

We go to parties hosted by a rather lovely couple at their spacious home. The cover charge is £10pp. People do ask what the cover charge is for. At the last party at least two glasses got broken (and would need replacing) so wear and tear but also their cleaners need to come in afterwards, the hope is the small cover charge will keep out the riff raff and stop it being a free for all but there's still mess.

Understandably different when parties are charging a lot more.

I think a small contribution to cover costs like cleaning, nibbles, breakage is fine, but the parties that run as a business and charge huge amounts (especially for guys) I choose not to bother with.

The best private parties are when groups of friends that all know each other just decide to have a gathering - everyone is cool with each other, no weirdness, and a couple of people can be brought along on a recommendation from the party host or a guest. This is always going to be much better than a moneymaking party business who are more interested in how much they can charge rather than thinking about whether the attendees are really compatible, whether the guests are sociable or just going to be a pest etc.
