Right I've done a bit of research in that I've searched threads to do with struggling with meets and out of 29 (that's all I could check) 26 of those were started by men under 5'9, now those profiles looked good in other areas so is it a height thing?

Like in the real world I've looked at guys that are under 5'9 and thought yeah I'd shag you but on here I use height as a filter, hypocrisy? Maybe.

Do other women use height as a filter, do men encounter this height barrier?

The guy I've just kinda finished with was 6ft I'd love this again now that feeling of being protected. My ex husband was 5'7" and I'm 5'4" so he was only a tidgy bit taller than me.

I quickly realised something on here if I at least want to meet someone of 5'7" I need to be looking at profiles that say they're 5'10"

I'm guilty of being a bit heightist...but it's not cast in stone, I like chunky guys so if they are one the shorter side I have made exceptions..

I dated a guy for a long time who was only 5'8 so for me anyway it's all down to what the person is like...

ha ha well if the ladies I have met used a height filter I would be a virgin!! im 5ft 5 ex jockey and when I was 16 I was 6 and 1/2 stone and had no problem getting women even very tall older ones!! One of my lady friends on here with high heels towers over me but it has never prevented me and her have some awesome fun. I think if a woman likes you she wont care how short you are. Lucky enough women seen to like my personality so if they choose by height then that is their choice but they may miss out on a real gem!

Height is a filter: I prefer taller men. That said, one of the best shags and still a good friend was someone who contacted me on another site over ten years ago.

I had a preference for tall men he had one for women under a size 16...he's 5ft 6 and about 8st wet! He messaged me saying I sounded arrogant and up my own arse. I enquired why his preference which excluded me was okay but mine that excluded him equated to my being up myself and arrogant.

I think height would probably matter to me if I was tall but as I'm only 5ft 2" most people are taller than me anyway so I'm not fussed x

I think people tend to have an ideal in mind when they set filters which can cut out people they'd be attracted to in reality. I don't make a big deal of being tall in my profile but maybe I should lol.

there is a story about that... when I was a jockey I was measured intially as 5ft 6 inches at my medical however a year later at my next one another doctor measured me at 5ft 5 and I was mortified so I complained made hi get a tape measure out and check the wall.....

Over the years I have had a few regular partners. My current two are 6ft 8 (at least) and 5ft 6. I'd say half of them were shorter than me-I'm 5ft 8-and half were taller-5ft11 and above.

I've never chosen someone because of their height, but taller men are able to get into positions and be more comfortable than shorter men; especially being fucked from behind, as I can't open my hips wide to lower my body.

One thing i legitimately don't get it why some women (i have a friend in mind) would rather date a tall, objectively fugly guy with a shit job than a 5 foot 10 guy (not me), who is objectively good looking and has a good income. I totally get why women would want height as part of the total package, but if you are going to make compromises then I'd have assumed it would be one of the earlier criteria.

This is how sorting and filtering tools are changing relationships.

Before, a woman may have preferred a taller man. But in reality, she meets a man who's a an inch shorter that her preference allows, but they get chatting, hit it off, have sex, have a relationship, whatever.

Looking at the profiles of the men who post these, height is the least of their worries. usually it's a bad profile, or, mainly, they're just unattractive. Now, is height a thing? Of course, just like you've said you're a "size queen" in precious posts. Is fab sizeist VWE men? Yes, of course.

Height is one of those characteristics that we subconsciously find attractive. I think it’s been said about about feeling protected and that means your young would also be safe. I'm 5'8" and I only find myself interested in taller men, both on here and in the real world... aside from the only true male love I've ever had and he's my height.

Plenty would think I'm too tall, too fat, too slim, too flat chested, the wrong hair/eye colour. That doesn't bother me as it's just individual preferences.

I'm 5'10 so I miss out on a few women on here who only want 6' plus, although most of them will make an "exception" for me once they see my body. Lucky me.

In school I was actually the smallest in my class all the way up until leaving really. I got my growth spurt fairly late. So all my teen years I got rejected by girls smaller than me, often openly telling me I am too short. Even though I was taller than them all, I was still too short.

When I went and lived abroad, at 5'10 as an adult. I was surprised that this was not universal among French women. Loads my height or taller would flirt with me. Loads taller than me in high heels would flirt with me. To be fair they rarely wore heels, only on nights out where they wanted their legs to look long.

In Ireland and UK you have 5'6 girls putting on 4 inch heels, going out and telling 6' guys that they are too short.

I found that women's filters be it height, age or anything else on that matter is flexible.

Yes, Who'd of thought height would be such a big deal on fab? Dating yes. But fab? Its not been a big issue for us but we do avoid messaging if the lady is way taller than him.

I am just about 5'7" and it definitely has an impact. It's been an issue throughout my life not with just dating but being involved in sports when younger and even career opportunities.

It's not my fault that am not 6ft and I am a nice guy. And not all guys at 6ft are either nice or good in bed.

Yes most definitely. I so wish I was taller but I have had to cope with it. I even make fun of myself to hide my feelings. I know some larger ladies make fun of their weight but inside it hurts.

Being tall, height has always been quite an important quality to me in a guy, and when on my single profile I did used to use it as a kind of filter.

Having said that however, ultimately it’s not a make or break thing as SSS is a bit shorter than me so I’m soooooo glad I didn’t let that get in the way of meeting or who knows what I may have missed out on!

I'm a tall guy of 6'4" with a decent bod. I do find that women prefer tall men especially if they are above average height themselves. I do think that a lot of smalller ladies have a wee fascination for a tall guy. Just my thoughts on what I've experienced.

Constantly on here we are told about the fact that men way outnumber women by whatever ratio seems to be popular on any particular day. We are further told that women can be more picky as a result. There was a topic about a week ago where i said men could still be picky. The response was no they can't if they want a shag.

So it seems ok to belittle men in that way but not ok to suggest a woman might be able to choose from a hotter selection due to the numbers. The fact that it was made by a woman isn't depressing at all. It shows that anyone can see that sometimes this occurrs.

This shouldn't be an us and them battle. Sadly it often is on fab. What does the phrase women should have each others back mean? Defend each other against nasty men? Don't you think good men also dislike nasty men? I want to use the phrase we are all in this for the same thing. We aren't of course. Be it meeting, chatting or just foruming whatever. Regardless let's have everyone's back.

Psych 101 would suggest that bitchy comments nearly always come from someone projecting or compensating for their own neuroses or inadequacies! I don't know why the people that make them don't get that.
