"My nanna used to make lovely Christmas cake but you had to wait 2 yrs for it cos that's how long she used to 'feed it' brandy for. You could get pissed off the fumes lol " I made a cake like that a few years ago, I had to dry it out before the marzipan would stay on it. | |||

My hubby took some to work one day cos they didn't believe him when he told then how strong it was. People at the other side of the office could smell it when he opened the tub. No one dared to try it cos they had to drive home lol | |||

"I don't drink. Could I use something non-alcofrolic instead? ![]() You can make a booiled mix and use a sugar syrup made with dark brown sugar..the booked recipe I find makes a moist cake anyway, just use fruit juice instead of booze. | |||
