Is it all the same size or is their marketing such as to confuse innocent consumers like me to buy the wrong bloody thing?

Same size ,you can get copies off eBay that work ,just don't say nerf on them .nerf did do a bigger sponge one though .

The majority fit all but some are larger cartridges or have special effects like Velcro on them. But if they are planning on using them outside buy the cheap bumper packs from eBay
