It's not as large this year because of the massive regeneration of Paradise Circus.

The Big Wheel and Ice Skate Rink have moved over to Eastside Park.

I can't post the link as it's not an approved site but if you search, it will come up as Frankfort Christmas market, Birmingham. Listed as by The Council House (not social housing), B1 1BB.

It's open today until 9pm but check times before you plan to visit.

It's been a good fab social event in past years

derby

I had to visit solihull just before christmas last year and for the first time I visited the bull ring it was all decked out for christmas, and saw the germanic market to I thought it looked based on a swiss or germanic theme, something for the kids to enjoy if not adults, also it was very atmospheric down the Outdoors open fruit and veg market with the traders shouting out how many oranges you could buy for so much along with other traders selling their produce the same way, a part of

derby I miss now as do many other people here.

There was a German bratwurst hotdog type stall at a local food festival here last week. Look out for him, very skinny, ferret faced with a goatee tash/beard......more importantly noticed he was a heavily smoker and didn't wash his hands and wear hygiene gloves afterwards!

Done it too many years, it’s far too crowded now and full of overpriced crap.

Worcester Victorian market is so much better, went last year with a special person and it was brilliant

This year I’m doing Lincoln market and Chatsworth House market.

"Good for a social and a good beer"

But there is better beer, cheaper beer, and heating just down the road in a pub run by a local who needs to stay in business all year round. Shops that are always there with staff to pay who pay the council rates all year.

These Christmas markets are bad news for everyone except the council who charge for the pitches and a bunch of chancers ripping money out of the hands of local traders.

Discuss...

I used to love it. But it's got too big and too popular!

I used to be able to get a seat when I went! I know it's reduced in size this year, but it will probably still be mega packed. Queues, people, it's just not that fun.

So I usually just pop along early one day, nearer to christmas, have a beer and a sausage.

It’s very festive but a bloody nightmare if you live and work in the city centre!

I’m off to check out the Manchester ones on Sunday, last time I went they had 7 different markets, hoping they have some different stuff as Brum have had the same expensive stuff for years.
