Love Christmas?

I lost the joy of Christmas a couple of years back losing two very special men in my life

But now I embrace it again

The cheesy songs

Endless tv adverts

The last minute panic

The whole shhhbang

I enjoy Christmas, i have two youngsters here who still believe in Father Christmas, so that helps.

But i detest New Year.

Christmas is a time of year that it's acceptable for me to act like a big kid, so for hat reason I love it!

I love Christmas, my eldest son still believes in the magic of santa so it's still nice to see his face Christmas morning when he walks in the living room to see all his presents.

We have a day where we put all the decorations up and dress the tree listening to Christmas music. It's lovely x

Hate the bullshit build up that starts far to early and the extravagance of some people is sick. I'm adopted so family dynamics are stranger than a lot of people's so there is no big family get together. We buy presents for all the children as Christmas is mainly for them and none of the other family issues are their fault. We are not religious so in that sense it means very little. I do enjoy the time off. We hunker down for the week and make the most of it. It is a time of year that exaggerates the negatives for a lot of people. We usually have a few of our single friends or friends with no family over for Christmas day and we have good laugh and drink and eat to much.

Hopefully we have created some good Christmas memories for my own children even if they have never spent it with any other family. You can't choose your family but you can choose your friends, so bring it on.

I like the lights!

I stupidly very very bloody stupidly left my tree in my attic when I moved so now I don't have a xmas tree.

The most gutting thing about it was that last year I won a competition and that tree was a 7ft prelit tree from the white company costing £350!!!!!

Is it cheeky to go and knock the new owners door and ask them to get my tree out of their attic? Reckon they've found and thought oh bloody hell this is a nice tree?

.

I absolutely love it. After years of shitty ones, it's the second year of not working on the day, I get to spend it surrounded by people I love and don't spend enough time with and eat lots of delicious food. This year will have added importance to me as well.

Nothing ventured nothing gained. As long as your polite and accept a no graciously.

Halifax

I like the build up to it ,but prefer xmas eve than the actual day,its totally overarrated.

I see christmas for family and since i dont have any ,it lost its shine for me.

It would be better if the build up didnt start so early though .

Miss

I can take it or leave it but, bizarrely, I like seeing other people enjoy Christmas. It seems to make them enthuse about things, which is nice.
