What about those of us that have filters on and do our own contacting, meaning we don't speak to people unless we instigate it, let alone speak down? Does that constitute rude? Is not being able to message the same amount of rude and up yourself as messaging and not receiving a reply? Or someone replying to say no thank you? Is this the fab equivalent of the Kobayashi Maru?

I think fair play to ya for doing your own messaging. To be fair, if someone catches my eye then yeah, that's what I do. I've got my filters off for forum users, they're mainly the people I respond to. If others choose to message after reading my profile where it states I rarely read messages then more fool them.
