Josh Rivers, a gay, has been suspended from his job as editor of the gay times... for "homophobic" tweets.

It's getting a bit silly now...

It's not just homophobic tweets though is it? It's countless tweets aimed at various minorities over several years. And for all he is claiming they were in the past, some were as recent as 2 years ago.

The ones I;ve seen aren't funny and are more inappropriate rather than deeply offensive, one is just paraphrasing Family Guy. But it's pretty obvious he's going to have a lot pf questions to answer as they aren't suggestive of someone being open minded and tolerant which is what is expected of his position

You are correct that it's not one homophobic tweet. I do understand that in theory a statement can be prejudice whoever is making it, but at some point you've got to be able to contextualise things. It's a gay man making a "homophobic" tweet for goodness sake. Self loathing is an absolute staple of comedy! Are we going to say that every gangsta rapper using the n word is racist?

It's also in the context of massive, indiscriminate rants against anything and everything - he was just letting off steam.
