Christmas tunes you hate!

Jump to newest

So, it appears the Christmas tunes have commenced, DAB radio channels dedicated to Christmas. I'm typically one of those who refuses to acknowledge the Christmas season until mid December but hey I've decided to go early this year.

However

There is one tune above all tunes that I detest! I mean I really hate it, to the point if I hear the intro I walk out of the room, pub or wherever until it's over.....the pougues fairytail in New York. I can't frickin stand it. But this got me thinking, am I the only one who hates this tune? Are there others which you hate?

The post is not to insight ba'humbug, please respect everyone's views.

Ready, set, go!

'I wish it could be Christmas every day' sang Wizzard. well, since it now seems to start around August, you may well be having your wish come true, eventually.

Personally,if I never hear that sodding song again,I will be very happy.

Same here. I do myself stuff all year round.

Sadly I do like eating so will make myself an xmas "style" meal but that is all I do.

If it wasnt rammed down peoples throats just after new year and the fact I worked for Nestle in York so I was doing xmas orders in March I may feel bit different but probably not.

I know people who still tell me to stop being grumpy over xmas as they cant understand that I am allowed not to celebrate

Some dreadful Paul McCartney trash - I'm not a Christmas fan and his music that's dredged up at Christmas is enough for me to kill the radio etc

York

The vast majority of them! There was once a time I quite liked them and they made me feel quite christmassy, but it seems to come around quicker every year as you get older and the same old songs just get wheeled out every time!

That Paul McCartney one in particular can get in the fucking sea!

With you OP I can't stand the pogues some either

I like Chris Rea - driving home for Christmas but that's for sentiment purposes, as it's reminds me of my dad, he worked away a lot when I was young so I never saw him much but always drove home for Christmas no matter what.

Provided I don't hear them too much I don't mind the old Wizard and Slade Christmas tracks, I find the Darkness Christmas song amusing at times as well. Best one for me has to be Fairy tale of New York though.

Apart from those I really don't like any of them and even the ones I don't mind I'll get sick of if I hear them constantly.

Whenever I'm out shopping etc this time of year I always tend to have my earphones in so I don't have to listen to any seasonal crap.

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

Having been an audio engineer for 15 years and every year having to suffer the constant barrage of Christmas music, day in, day out; every year seemingly starting earlier than the previous, I particularly hate all, and I mean ALL Christmas songs...

I'd rather slowly wind my scrotum into a mangle than endure listening to poxy Christmas songs..

The pogues can pogue mahon..wizard can fuck off up their own sleeve and wham can keep last Christmas and fucking well stay there!

Fairy Tale Of New York is a classic and about the only "Xmas" song that can be played all year round - it's supposed to sound like a d*unken ramble too
