"I'm seeking advice. If i sent a message and it sat opened for a while in there outbox but didn't get a reply. Would i take that being on the back burner (not meant in a wrong way) for furture reference or should that be a silent note to move on again?" To be honest it depends on how many messages the woman has and how often she gets on to clear them. I have a huge backlog of messages which I am trying to deal with but I keep getting distracted by work, life and tho forums

"Always just move on. Then if they do get back its a nice surprise. I know personally there is no way to predict what my mail reading behaviour means, sometimes I leave them unopened, sometimes I open and delete, sometimes I open and will reply later, sometimes I open and will delete later. " Yes to the first part of this reply . I sometimes read messages one after the other and then go back to delete them all at once but might miss one. Or I'll read it but am not sure if I want to reply or not so give myself a few days to see how I feel about it later. And then there are those I definitely want to reply to but am simply too busy to sit down and write properly immediately. Other times, I'm afraid I let my inbox build up quite a bit because it can get a bit overwhelming and/or I just don't feel in the mood to read stuff which overall can get a bit depressing. So really ... don't try to second guess how your message is treated and what that might mean. 'Forget' about it as soon as it's sent so if you do get a reply it's a bonus.

"As has already been established OP - it can mean a multitude of things, so it's not worth overthinking too much - if you get a reply then great. One thing to bear in mind though, a lot of people will look at the profile before even opening a message, and the decide if they want to read it based on that - so it always pays to have a decent profile and pics to increase your chances of a message being read, let alone replied to "

"No reply means not interested until you ever get one. Spread attention broadly in a no strings attached environment " Thank you

"No reply is like a silent "I'm not interested". Just keep on searching and trying with people you think you will like instead of sending another message that will get opened and left, at best" Not necessarily it's not

"Try to forget about it. Imagine you've waved at someone on a bus....it's drove off and they didn't wave back. Sometimes that bus turns around at the interchange and she might make a return journey and get off at the stop near you, and.... You know, this analogy sounded good at the start. Anyone FAF? " Hahahahahahahaha i like it. Thank you

"Maybe some are still considering it, or someone doesnt know how to say thanks but no thanks and worry about offending. I know Ive looked at messages and either not replied cos we have been bombarded and working through them, or not sure if we want to meet and mull it over (no offence but its about timing and atraction and everything else, we all know that), or im still wording the No Thanks. Always a tough one. I hate ignoring people, but at the same time want to let them down nicely" Nicely put thank you
