A husband and wife team have offered to cut the bill of people who eat at their pubs - if they surrender their mobile phones while they have dinner.

Hand over your phones when walk in,and get a 10% dicount on your food

Good idea/bad idea?

Great idea, all too often we see couples and families sat at tables and every one of them has a phone in their hands. No great way to spend an evening in each other's company.

Preston

Getting indigestion is worth more than 10% off the bill; that would be the consequence of relinquishing my phone on the way in

Great idea,it wouldn't bother me one bit as I don't use my phone at the table anyway.

Put it down and talk to a real person instead.

We have phone/technology bans at the table whether at home or eating out! It’s when we chat/catch up on the day etc!

The only exception is if it’s a game we’re playing collectively such as a quiz, ludo etc! Individual games aren’t allowed!

I’d happily go to that restaurant as it makes me sad when so many couples/families seem to have nothing at all to say to each other so spend all the time on phones! X
