As with everything else on Fab that is beautifly wide and varied, I see a wide range in photo 'quality'; from professionally shot and edited set ups, to point & shoot with a shitty old phone, and everything inbetween...

What I'd like to know is, how important is that to you when skipping through profiles? Does a quality picture get your attention more than a point and shoot, or is it simply the content - if it's what you wanted to see who cares about the 'look'?

How much 'edit' is too much edit?

How much time and thought do you put into your photos before posting?

Opinions please...

(Same can be asked about the written word in a profile - that's another thread for another time though

)

Personally I wouldn't be happy sharing a photo that showed me in a bad light or surrounded by mess. However that's more down to lacking confidence.

I think a good picture that shows some effort gets my attention more than others.

There is always the wonder if someone doesn't make much effort in their profile, will they not make much effort elsewhere.

Real images, point and shoot pictures are great, it can tell you about the person posting. I always doubt the 'professional look pictures'

I like the person behind the profile. Clearly I'm a minger dickhead- this comment isn't about me.

But profiles with a lot of pics or text put me off. I'm not what they're looking for. Limited profiles and no pics- there may be a really cool and funny person behind it that may find me ok too.

Suppose you're right - could learn alot more from an 'honest' image... sometimes bad not good, but at least you learn!

At a quick glance, your own images are very well put together and slick, looking good ...so why say one thing about pics and do another yourself? (Just curious, not being facetious)

We don't do any editing with our photos apart from maybe cropping them and changing the odd one or two to black and white.

Profile and photos are there to represent us.

Professional help, in my opinion, might not be necessary as we can use the timer in any camera but would be nice to put some effort into it.

In all fairness, there are only a tiny percentage of what look like professional pics. Most are, like you say, self timer and a bit of effort - but it's that effort that speaks words.

Most of my photos are taken by me on my phone or by Daryl on his. I like to make sure they are good quality and will sometimes use a slight filter on them if the colour is off or it looks better in b&w

A good photo catches my attention and I like to think about different ideas when taking mine, but they are all taken on a mobile phone either by myself or my partner in crime

And I only enhance the colour or crop the pictures and then watermark to try and reduce photo theft

For me it's less about if an image is professional and more about if the person taking the photo has put thought into it. Does it inspire my imagination and get me thinking naughty thoughts beyond what I see in the image?

I will always pay more attention to a guy who has taken photos beyond the usual badly angled cock pic.

I have a mixture of professional and self taken images on my profile. I enjoy both, as long as the inspiration is something more than being naked or exposing just because. I like creative photos

To me, using an edit is useful to block out any tell tale signs of mess or personal items in the background (or the toilet seat for many selfies)

A combination of b/w and coloured pictures make the profile come alive a little more, that’s just my opinion.

This appears to be the norm, a little cropping, a bit of tone and background focus adjustment and that's enough.

Mine are the same, all selfies or on a timer then adjust. A little effort goes a long way.

Some people do understand that there's a person behind every profile.

Some people are only attracted to bright objects- lots of pics and words describing sexual acts. Seems robotic to me though, like they're looking for a sex object to fulfill their fantasy and not a real person.

Quality has to be good or i just think f@#k off lol. The ones that look like they're a picture of a picture types

. I don't like too much editing as that's not a real state of what the person looks like etc. Cropping is fine. Hate those pictures taken in those wavey mirrors lol. Who you trying to fool? Eh

Most definatelty. I have done a couple of edits for a friend (as well as tinkering with my own pics of course), happy to do likewise for anyone with the technophobe gene! I'm not talking full on photoshop; just tone, colour focus and cropping.

I'm never going to spend too long on a fab pic. Why? I snap enough to represent what my body actually looks like. That is enough for me. It's all I want in return. Honestly, my opinion goes that if you're so caught up in the perfect pic, you're self conscious enough to not let go and enjoy a moment for fear of revealing a less than flattering angle!

The more editing done, the less likely they are to be representative of you.

I am very practical on this. I understand people want to express something, or stand out. But a large part of me is very suspicious that it's because you're trying to separate yourself from the fact that you are trying to attract someone to fuck!

I don't tend to think too much about what others are going to think, I enjoy taking pictures and posting them.

They give me confidence and help make me feel good about myself when I think I look good in them. If others appreciate them then that's great.
