What's the difference between the two?

Which is better, both in around the £40 mark?

What advantages would one have over the other?

Not technologically minded at all so all advice welcome

I have a fire stick as I’ve got amazon prime and love it, but would think if you’ve not got prime it may be limited maybe? I can’t comment about the android box as I don’t have one.

Not much difference if your wanting kodi on them then you can get the Android box off ebay ready to go

Hillside desolate

I have both in different rooms, they do pretty much exactly the same job, and kodi is easily installed on the fire stick

I would say your better off with a box as for around £35 you will get a 2gb box but the firestick only has 1gb..so the box will be a bit faster

I think the android boxes tend to have higher spec. Definitely pick one with at least 2gb and at least quad core . You can order a 3gb octa core now on ebay from China for well under a hundred quid including postage. Delivery takes a few weeks though. A lot of boxes sold in UK/Ireland are Chinese made anyway !

I only pay for the TV license and not services - would an android box give you wider choice upon which services you could use, potentially including occasional NowTV?

Sorry for the hijack op.

With an android box you download an addon such as The Pyramid. This is legal. Then you click on your addon and you can watch thousands of films and tv series box sets. Because you arent downloading what you watch, only streaming, it is a legal grey area. The quality varies from perfect hd to crap .

Thanks Mistress

I'd heard Kindle Fire HD had dropped Now but as a complete outsider to watching TV via anything other than aerial pick-up, I'm a total newbie.

Get on eBay and get a least a 2 gb of ram box.. ..it will be well under 40 quid and it will open up a whole new world to you
