Shave it all off and wear your baldness with pride...I do! And if any fems have a problem with it, then that's exactly what it is - their problem and not yours. There's plenty out there that love a baldy, ignore the shallow brigade.

OP unfortunately there is no magic cure/remedy for hair loss so you will just need to learn to live with it.

The good news is most women really don't care that you are losing your hair so long as you don't go for a comb over. Pick a style that flatters what you do have or just shave it off. Men with shaved heads are hot

I used to have locks down to my shoulders but started loosing mine in my 20's.

Just, took the clippers to it before it got bad and that was that. Took a week or so to get used to it but it's genuinely no big deal..in fact it's so much easier to keep. I'd near have hair again truth be told. Oh..and you'll still get laid, no worries

With receding hair, I'd recommend a buzz cut. Looks better.

I do mine myself. Saves me a fortune going to the barber and the cost of getting there and back. Zero maintenance and no need to buy any hair product.

Sorted.

I hate that mine is thinning weirdly. My hair line at the front is receding but not evenly, so I'm getting left with a "badger tail" in the middle. The badger tail is thinning throughout itself but slower, but the rest of my hair is still quite thick, so shaving it off is going to be a ball ache as most of my hair is there and fine, but if I don't shave it off it looks like I'm trying to do a comb over I don't want to lose it but I guess in the end we get used to it or we just ignore that we no longer have it. I think next time I get a hair cut I will talk to the guy about going a lot shorter than normal, gives me time to get used to it.

I know people say to just deal with it, there's nothing that can be done, but there's a big difference between knowing it's coming and then having to deal with the reality of the stranger that stares back at you from the mirror.

I know I can't help, but if it's any consolation you're not alone.

REGAINE for men, available in pharmacists. Been around for years. Topical lotiion which can re-boot recently closed down hair follicles, and can stop hair falling out. It has to be used continously, if you stop, the follicles continue to shut down.

Embrace the aging process and grow old disgracefully. I was 17 when I started going bald, grey at 14. I wish I’d shaved it off earlier because for a little while i looked like Count Duckula the cartoon character. Now I’m not sure what I’d do with hair and it has saved me about £250 per year on haircuts and products for 20 years

Same. Buy a set of clippers and take it all off. You might find you suit it. Save a fortune on haircuts and cut out one more worry thats adding to your depression.

I've been shaving mine since before any hair loss. Although i do wonder what I'd look like with a full on afro.

One post to actually help the OP, the rest just saying "shave it off! It's fine"

OP. Hair loss is caused by a a build up of a hormone called DHT in the hair follicles there's a few ways to reduce this.

dutasteride is a prescription med but available if you look around. Used to treat alopecia.

Something like Rogain as mentioned, "reboots" the hair follicles but will likely make it worse before it gets better.

A shampoo containing Nizoral works by inhibiting DHT in the scalp, preventing things from getting worse.

There's also a load of anecdotal evidence on certain food supplements that can help.

Where do you get the idea that most women prefer hair? Even if they do, do you think you would be avoided JUST because you're going thin on top?

Stop listening to the medias idea of what they think we are supposed to believe.

Ah so chances are it will come back in time then if you can sort your depression and stress out, so for the time being, shave it off, that's one less thing to worry about. Talk to your gp about your feelings and hopefully you'll get sorted and your hair will come back! Best wishes.

Don't do that thing of always wearing a baseball cap or similar, embrace the most masculine thing you can ever do. I started receding about the same age as you, and now sport a full-on 'sunroof' lol! I used to worry about it at first, hated going for a shower as I could literally see every hair going down the plughole, but there's nothing you can do about it. Anyone who mentioned my hair loss, I would always reply "It stops it going grey"

It doesn't matter op - you are probably the only person that it affects. I like a guy for who he is and not fine aspects of his physical self. Stay confident and with people who support you positively too.

There will be someone who likes it for every one who doesn't..your ex had a preference for hair it seems, some people do. Some don't mind and some love no hair, you won't please everyone.

The important person to please is you, if that means cutting it or trying to halt the hair loss with shampoos or lotions..don't pick a course of action based on what we here have said is best, pick one that your happiest with and if your happy, that will do more for you than any hair style ever will

So i feel for you OP but i wouldnt say most women prefer a man with hair. The difference is women who arent fussed about it dont feel the need to state it in their profile.

Just grow it really long on the sides and have a comb over! About time comb overs became fashionable!

Nah just shave it off and go about your day. You’ll be more aerodynamic so will get more done. A lot of ladies love it and you don’t have think about haircuts anymore.

I thought exactly the same thing, and when I cut it it looked weird to me for a bit but it grew on me pretty quick..

I'd bet if you asked anyone with a buzz cut that they had the same fear and that they felt odd at first. I felt like a low browed squat headed thug the first day! Honestly, I felt like people would be looking at me...they never did and it passed

If you're going bald you might as well do steroids and work out, women get wet for bald muscley men.

"Suffering from it myself it has really affected my confidence, and as most ladies prefer hair its a real big deal for me, I just wanted to know what advice anyone can give about it

I have a brilliant, beautiful, splendid bald head. I never had any concern with it and if I ever did not attracted any particular woman because of that, surely that woman did not deserve me.

Adrian"

Totally agree mate; when I read a profile in here which states ‘No bald men’ I just instantly block and move on

Op use nizarol shampoo every second day.rub it in and leave it as long as you can. I leave it overnite and rinse out in morning.

Only available here in pharmacy. It stops hair loss and helps regrowth and it's cheap as chips

Regaine is expensive and has side effects. Breaks down callogen in your skin and makes you look very old quick

Ive abused steroids in the past and am currently on testosterone and because of nizarol I have a full head of hair

Near the River

It took me a while to get used to my baldness and it's not easy to completely get rid of any self doubt, but many women aren't bothered by hair/no hair and as for those who have an issue....it's their issue. I'm fine that I don't appeal to all women. Life's too short.

Mine started going late 20's and once it was too thin I just shaved it off completely and have never looked back since , get the clippers on it and face the world as a baldy along with the rest of us folically challenged

Suffering with my fringe and just above, have been for about a year now.

Started using Regaine for men, hoping to see results in next few months, knocked my confidence loads though as I've always used my hair to feel good.

Mines also due to depression and anxiety so I know how you feel !

I started using castor oil, helps stimulate the roots, starts tingling. Make sure if you do use that, you apply once a day or two, preferably use it to style your hair so it soaks into your roots throughout the day mate. It's doing me a favour!
