Dating sites

I've been using dating sites for a good few number of years now and don't get me wrong I have met and had a few good relationships of them,but I'm starting to think the world of lies and swipe left and right has taken the fun out of finding a good woman,a few months a go a lady stopped in her car as I was walking the dog and asked for my number and the buzz I got after it was mega.

I joined up here a good few months ago as ive gotten into the mind set that Internet dating isn't the way froward for myself or self,so just came on here seeking light hearted fun with like minded people,but finding this is the same..

Was just wondering what other people's thoughts are about the hole internet dating..

I've never had any joy with dating sites. I've tried every single one over 5 yrs at different points and never even so much as been asked on a date. Had countless chats with people only for them to delete their profiles almost as instantly as they appeared .

In the organic world never asked either ..... think it's just a different world

I've never used internet dating sites but I know a few people who have and it's been a real success. However, I do think the internet has taken some of the fun away from people actually trying to chat people up when out and about. It's easier for people just to send messages on a dating site. Such a shame that people are communicating less and less when out and about and spending their time instead staring at a phone screen. I'm sure there will be plenty of missed 'dating' opportunities between people because of this.

All I found was men, claiming to be seeking their perfect woman, to live happily ever after, sending messages promising the earth etc, etc, etc.

In reality they wanted a quick shag & to disappear.

At least on here, people's intentions are pretty obvious.

Years ago it was easy to date. You met at work or in the pub now it's just a minefield and too reliant on social media

My question is quite genuine, HOW do people meet each other at the pub? And how many times would I have to go to a pub to be successful?

They're great for people who have social anxiety and struggle in real life. Some people feel much more comfortable with getting to know people online than in real life. In real life situations, they will dwell on things for a long time, and by the time they get the courage to do something, the person of their interest has moved on or been taken by someone else.

Plus, I think it is very rare for a woman to walk up to a man and just initiate things by asking for a number or something similar. Well, at least that hasn't happened with me, or doesn't happen in the places I used to go out to when I was a frequent socialite

I am very social when out and about, have asked guys out daytime and completely sober as well as on dating sites as I don't believe in waiting for them to ask. It gets to the day before the date and POOF! they're gone.

I can get laid incredibly easily (as I'm female and that's how the world works, am not full of myself) but can't get a date to save my life!

What the fudge am I doing wrong??? Or is it the world of dating these days?

Been single nearly 4 years now...

Most people on them just want penpals

It’s ok, if that’s your thing...

Tinder is pretty good for finding out who likes you locally...

Can be a lot of fun if you know a lot of local people
