Thankfully I don't need to claim this payment (but there but for the grace of god etc...). However, I've seen quite a few in depth discussions about it recently on Mumsnet of all places, so it may be worth doing a search of its forums for further advice - or joining up and starting a thread there of your own. I know lots of people have had to challenge their original assessment after it was rejected on spurious grounds, and outright lies in some cases and think it's inhumane how so many people who are already at a disadvantage and/or in pain are being made to jump through hoops like this.

The PIP system, from assessment right through to tribunal has been designed to reduce the number of recipients. The most simple way of doing this is by declining payments after assessment in full knowledge that many will end their claim there and then.

Appeal, go all the way! You’ll probably be successful. Good luck.
