Hi everyone It's Alex & Carl xx
I want to start by saying a massive thank ~You to ALL~ for the vast amount of the wonderful & genuine messages and prayers that you have sent to us for our Beloved 8 Month old Bichon Frise "Beau Beau!!" xx
Just to keep you ALL up to date ~ Beau contracted the dreadful Parvo~Polio Virus 9days ago now (even though he had been innoculated against this as a puppy @ 8 & 10weeks old at our family vets.
This has possibly been THE MOST STRESSFUL 9DAYS OF OUR LIVES TBPH !!
Having very stressfully discharged Beau from the emergency Vets he was initially taken to last Saturday night, following what appeared just like an ordinary little sicky throw back(that ALL animals occasionally do)
He appeared"FINE" Saturday morning
But ~ apparently~ suddenly & rapidly , that afternoon~ deteriorated whilst we were away at a Family wedding!!
So our Dog sitter took him & his sister Rosie to the Emergency vets (who was also "frothing @ the mouth!!)
The vet gave them BOTH an emergency injection & Rosie went home with our dog sitter, but Beau was kept in
We arrived back home ,to the terribly destressing news & immediately went to see him.
He was sweating cobs,in a tiny metal cage in the Isolation unit,on a drip.He couldn't stand, lift his head & appeared really ill.We foned throughout the next 24Hrs & he appeared a little better (no vomit no Diarriaha)
When we foned on Tuesaday morning,we were told he had been sick.I immediately went back to see him !
When i was gowned up,i was allowed to see him & what i saw was discusting. His Drips had been switched off & Medication had stopped OMG!! His canula had obviously "Tissued~Blocked~due to being switched off and bag empty),i couldnt believe what i was seeing !!
"We think you should seriously consider calling it a day!!"OMG!!
NO WAY WAS I GOING TO ALLOW THEM TO SIMPLY GIVE UP ON OUR BEAU that qwickly!!
So ~i immediately telephone my vets & discharged him ASAP.& craddled him ,runniing out as qwickly as i could,in a taxis back to my home town Vets xx
Within 24Hrs he has improved sooooo much so,he was able to walk, ate some food & was able to wag his tail& jump in his cage!! Fantastic we thought & Thank God we got a 2nd opinion(as he would have 100% been in a cremation Jar,had we not have discharged him,the day b4)
The tests 4 Parvo were sent to a specialist Vet~Laboratory in Scotland ,but unfortunately, the Parvo test are done every Wednesday,so we would have to wait almost a week!!
Thursday he ate Chicken and drank well & was able to go outside for a walk & we were told,he would possibly be home "IF" he kept his food down.(fingers X'ed)
10am Friday morning the nurse foned to say that Beau had been sick again & was a little wosre!!so obviously wouldnt be home just yet !!
The vet's contemplated that he could have "possibly"chewed & swallowed something norty, that could be blocking his intestines.(as puppies do chew things they shouldnt) & they obviously had to alliminate every possibility,
We decided that it be better all round IF were to get the Parvo test back that day,so paid an Extra £50 to have the Lab set up the test machine that day & get the result back ASAP~which we did!!
@5pm the vet foned "it was possitive for Parvo!!"OMG!!
So no need to operate x
He was sick again after his dinner & is still being looked after as we write this!! All they can do do is continue with the sats ,meds & care.He has been bathed today and a clean Canula has been fitted & is as comfortable as he can possibly be
AND ALL WE CAN do is continue to pray!!! ***** ~ The fact that Beau was extremly fit and very healthy prior to this obviously has contributed to the fact that after 9 days now ....he is still alive & fighting this dreadful KILLER VIRUS!!!
**** we have since found out that 4 other dogs have died in the last 2weeks with this dreadful Parvo & our hearts go out to them & their owners xx
We willobviously keep you ALL posted xx
#Thanks to you all !!! Alex & Carl xx
