I have a FitBit. I average just over 6 miles a day, which for me is around the 14,000 step mark. I walk to work and back though so that helps.

I read the title as have you got a stepmother and got really confused when I clicked on the thread

My phone racks up my steps, think the highest ive had in a day is 25001. Generally sits at around 6-8k though I don't have my phone on me when I'm round the house.

I have a fitbit. My daily target is 6000. But I have it mostly to track my heartbeat and sleep patterns.

I'm usually averaging 28k steps a day according to my Gear 2 watch and phone app. Goes higher when I take my dog out for a long walk.

I've had a Fitbit but prefer my jawbone UP24. I used to do the 10k but the last few months have been very difficult and testing personally and I've done little. I still wear it though, hoping to get back to a better time soon.

I just look on maps to see how far I've walked or use local knowledge given most of my walking is local. Our lass has had several of these devices and apps and they all give wildly different results, I think they're all just inaccurate crap but we get them because they're a fad these days and we love fads..yet more crap we don't need.

I deleted the one off my phone. I don't need my phone barking orders at me like some boot camp instructor, that's not the deal. The phone is the piece of equipment I use when I want to get in touch with someone to bring me pizza or curry. Some things should really know their place.

My experience is fit bit reads high ,

Of course this data subjective as my fenix reads lower but the fenix is GPS calibrated so I think it is more likely to be closer x
