How to eat your pineapple

So I've had this whole pineapple sitting in the fruit bowl on the kitchen table for about a week, it was gstarting to get kind of riper , softer to touch, so I undertook the dilemma of cutting it up last night...how do you eat yours?

Found this device once for pineapples.. it would core it and peel it at the same time... only made of plastic... If anyone knows where I can one from please let me know x

To cut up a pineapple you stand it upright and slice it into quarters, then into eighths. Take the first piece and lie it on it's side and using a paring knife slice away the outer skin. Then slice it into wedges. Repeat for the other 7 pieces.

I was taught, rightly or wrongly that in order to improve the sweetness of watermelons and pineapples, is to sprinkle a little bit of salt on to the fruit before eating.

Probably not a good idea if one has high blood pressure and is on a low salt diet!

Add to homemade sweet and sour sauce.

I love fresh pineapple as a dessert after a meal though, yum!

excuse me asking, but that lesson was from whom? and where? I can remember being taught by my amar that a mysterious far eastern spice 'aji no moto' was the greatest culinary discovery ever - later on people started dissing it and hey we all know about monosodiumglutomates these days!

I always found pineapples benefit from being turned upside down for a day before eating.... juice gets redistributed through the fruit...

Then, slice of the top and bottom, then run your knife down each side to peel, the chop into eigths, then snarfle if all down, with the juice dribbling down your chin
