Any of the ladies on here have one?

I've been recommended to have one by the clinic as I'm not on any form of contraception and I've had a few mishaps.

But I'm so apprehensive about it.

Bedworth

I had one for a while as I didn’t want any form of hormonal contraception.

I found it made my periods heavier, more painful and they lasted longer too. Having it removed was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made

Fabville

I bled all the time.

Having my tubes clipped was the best thing I did!

Not meeting

I've refused the coil numerous times. Currently having a monthly injection & hrt pending a hysterectomy though.

Do you need contraception other than condoms? If not, why fill your body with unnecessary hormones?

I don't want hormones

That's why I was considering the copper coil

And I've had a few slip ups where condoms have ripped etc which is making me really wary of relying solely on them

Near Bath

I've never had any trouble with mine. Have the occasional heavier period. Much more reliable than condoms in my experience. Try it maybe, if you don't get on with it after a few months have it removed.

If I had to have a coil it would be Mirena but obviously full of bloody hormones. I don't know what else to suggest. I can't have oestrogen so am very limited. As are your options Being a woman is crap sometimes

I’m on my 3rd Mirena coil and never have a period. I’m also sterilised.

That was the same as P but while down there they did a bit of laser work and she's not had a proper period since (about 5 years now) but she still gets a bit of pmt.

Be careful of all the copper thieves though OP. They'll nick it from anywhere.
