Yes. Verry.

And it drives you nuts cos you've never had it and your emajanashoun takes over cos you've never experienced it.

Yes, I think it is possible. I think it's a bit of an illusion because you're missing more of the idea of it rather than the actuality of it (because the idea of it has in a way taken the place of the real thing). So it becomes more than longing, in this regard. But it's also a bit more troublesome than missing something you've actually had because the idea of something is more idealized than the reality.

But yes, I do think it's possible.

Yes I think this too. Like Seeside says it's probably more the imagination of what may have been.

So maybe not troublesome as such, as it could've been crap and not what was dreamed of.

Yeah definitely. Estella posted something recently about that feeling. I can't remember the word.

That grieving for what might have been.

It can bring about complications in life if you're not careful. Imagine you had an abusive mother who dies, not only have you missed out on what is perceived as a stable loving childhood, your grief is complicated by missing what you should have had let alone the estranged relationship you did have.

Saudade was the word Estella used.

Kind of.

I felt there was a huge hole in my life, because of the lack of intimacy with my husband.

I met him when I was very young and didn't know anything about relationships, other than my role as a gf/wife/mother; which was skewed from lack of knowledge.

I wanted to feel intense love and wanting from a man and had an idea of what it might feel like.

Saudade isn't the right word for this. Saudade is the feelings you have on recollecting something or someone that you had.

"Can you miss something that you never had? "

No. You can wish for something you have never had. You can long for sonething you have had or not had. Have to had something to miss it.

I think
