I'm fuming.

A local lady says she needs a phone.

I have a recently refound an old phone so its currently spare.

I offer to drop it off, expecting nothing in return. She accepts. Gives me her address. We agree a time.

I drive there and there's nobody home.

Wait a quarter of an hour.

Still nobody there.

Go home fuming.

I really do not understand the attitude of some people on here.

Tell me that not everyone is a complete snake in the grass.

Restore my faith in human nature... Please.

Not everyone is a snake. I often look at you tube videos of people doing awesome things for others to give me the feel good factor.

Breathe. If she/“she” did it as a wind up then they have to live with how pathetic and sad their idea of fun is. What a lovely gesture on your part, OP. Accept that sometimes life doesn’t pan out, and I’m sure karma will repay you positively in due course.

I know it went to shit, but...

I think it was a very generous thing to do. If the person had been genuine you could have helped them immensely. I know it's easy to get the "fuck it, I ain't helping people anymore" attitude, but if you're anything like me, it won't last. Being kind helps us sleep at night and gives us a sense of wholesomeness.

Kudos to you for doing it. As for whoever it were i guess it just depends on their reasoning, if it were some sort of joke or something then shame on them. Although there’s a bunch of reasons they may not have been home. You just never know, although I’d me miffed as well.

I'm like this in the "real world" but not on here ... on here If someone pisses me about it's a definite fuck you and block.

Real life has enough shit without this place exacerbating it ...

Yes, I hear you there. Don't be afraid to block on here, my block list is massive. Those who are crude, expectant etc get a sharp exit from me, but there are those I've met here who mean the world to me and I'd do anything for them if I could. I have made some simply amazing friends and my life is far richer with them in it, and I wouldn't have met them had it not been for fab.

Mines half filled with “don’t get paid until tuesday, need a sugar daddy” or something to that effect. See the issue for me is there is a site called freecycle, people give away all sorts of stuff to those who need it. Now in my eyes beggars can’t be choosers so even if someone offeres the old school nokia’s that are idiotproof any desperate person wouldn’t decline. If they turn their nose up it’s most likely because there’s no real monetary value so I totally agree with you.
