I don't watch much TV, I hate cake, but I watch this.

Sophie won with her cake with a bee theme. (Great choice, bees are pretty fabulous. )

Did anyone hear that the winner was announced on twitter in the morning from Pru in error? School girl error, lol. Is the show as good as it was? Did they choose the right winner in your opinion?

Bring Mel and Sue back?

Yeah I did think they chose the right contestant,I thought the guy was going to win until the end then he failed.

Thankfully I managed to avoid who had won until I watched it late last night,stupid woman!

Yes, I had the dude marked down to win until last week, I think he started to try to do things he couldn't ever accomplish. Sometimes simple is best.

We've watched it the last couple of times.

I liked the show on BBC, I like Queen Mary Berry, I though Mel and Sue were great so I was hesitant about the new presenters. I think the channel 4 version is better. I think Sandy Toksvig and Noel Fielding were great together and really engaged with the contestants on a personal level and Prue is personable too. Paul Hollywood is the one constant and I think he's the right person for the job.

I'm not bothered that Prue slipped up by announcing the winner early I've got bigger fish to fry. I'm just amazed its never been leaked before.

I warmed to Noel on this program, you can see why they chose him now, it just took a while to get used to new faces. The presenters and the program was good.

Do you think this could possibly have seen the weakest final ever? All three bakers were 'fantastic' were they?

I wasn't happy about the move to C4 but new presenters/judge were ok.

However I think they did a poor job of selecting contestants this year the standard wasn't as high. Sophie winning was good liked her but not as good as previous years.

I'd agree. That's my point above. The standards through the rounds and even on the final was good, but never 'showstopping' examples.

Yes I do. I think the younger, university student guy was head and shoulders above the finalists. But, I know next to nothing about baking
