Carbon dioxide in the world's atmosphere was last at the current level 3 to 5 million years ago, when sea levels were up to 20 meters higher.

Trump has famously stopped government agencies from using thr terms global warming or climate change.

I'd like to know how the fuck they have managed to obtain proper scientific data from all those years ago the proves this theory!

scientific methods and study...they tell every one there's going to be a meteor shower tomorrow they all run outside to look and believe what they were told.

Scientists tell them that modern life is affecting the climate and its damn inconvenient so lets doubt them!

I wonder what happened to all the 3-5 million year old cars?

Do you think there was a scrappage scheme?

They said the hurricane this year was one of the worst ever recorded.

So I went and looked back over history and for some years they have none recorded. It's basically the biggest hurricane since we started tracking them from space, not ever.

They said that humans were responsible for all the co2, but plumes of certain life in the sea have been outputting way more co2 than we thought.

They blamed hair-sprays for holes int he ozone, we banned them, the holes grew bigger. Turns out lots of chemcials in Asia get sucked up to the upper atomoshere causing the holes to appear, chemicals they never thought could survive a trip to the upper atmoshphere.

But ignoring who is to blame.

The world is just returning to its normal climate, we are only in the UK and Ireland cause we followed the ice melting. If it didnt melt we wouldn't be here.

The clue is in the last two words of the first sentence.

It's complex - ice core measurements are used for some periods but they can also measure the variety of Carbon isotopes that were produced as output by more historical life forms, for example.

One of the issues that we have today is that ancient climates were established and generally changed gradually - rather than the very sudden changes that humans have created. The Pliocene period of old, was the period that we're now matching.

Geology, air bubbles locked in ice cores, atmospheric readings and analyse of concentrations of certain minerals and rock types.

It doesn't matter who is to blame. We all are. We've fucked the earth up and it's our kids that will truly pay the price.

Lol you wouldn't be wrong. Ignoring the carbon dioxide produced from agriculture, methane produced by cattle is 20 times more potent than carbon dioxide. So while its in a smaller concentration in the atmosphere, it's ability to absorb infrared radiation is vastly greater than that of carbon dioxide which makes it extremely harmful.

15 thousand years ago ice sheets got as far south as Harrow but did not affect the cricket pitch. Eaton was completely spared. Who says money dosen't talk?

The earth will be fine. Humans probably won't do so well
