So I’ve put a meet for today, well for anytime this week actually as I’m unexpectedly work free this week, but I’m wondering is there any point?

Putting aside the number of ‘male meets’, I’m not sure if I’ll be very successful. You see I seek a classy lady, not someone who’s gonna drop her pants because I put a meet request. Yes I’ve put up a social meet only, so will hopefully catch the eye of someone suitable, but do you ladies really check out the ‘meet section’ anyway?

So come on girls, is there any point to the meet now adverts by us fellas??

You never know. I don’t check out the meets section, but I do look on the updates newsfeed and local meets show up on there. You might just catch someone’s eye.

But it's not a massive effort to fill in the thing, and as others have said someone who has you on a friend list or hotlist might see it and get in touch.

We have a look once in a while at listed meets, don't think we've ever met off the back of one though.

It rarely works for single ladies and couples so I'm assuming single men will find it nigh on impossible to get a meet that way.

I would suggest you just keep on searching and messaging people in the usual way.

It's a few minutes of effort - less than sending one well composed personalised message - so it all depends upon your outlook and commitment to meeting.

People see them and if searches are done, it's one thing that could be searched upon

In the 2 years on n off I've never succeeded with a meet by posting on here. I've tried many times.

Only meets I've had are from chatting long n hard. I think it's different types that respond to meets posted rather that chatting and getting to know the other

I'm sure many others have succeeded.

I dont look at the meets thingy but I do look at local updates.

You might have more luck changing your status OP.

Whether you'll find someone "classy" enough for you is another thing

I sometimes look at meets to see if anybody is looking for a social but almost all of them add "maybe more". Like the op we look to have a social only first and feel that responding to a request where a person is hoping for more would be unfair of us.

I also think women who meet on the spur of the moment might be in the minority.

We have stopped putting up meet requests as never get a response. Much easier to go to a club as akways have a great night even if we don't play with others x

If we were available to play, we might respond to a 'meet' status posted by someone we have met before or would like to meet. But that would flash up on our 'friends' updates. It would be out of our comfort zone to respond to a 'meet' status from someone we have never communicated with before, and I'd be afraid of them not turning up or cancelling. We tend to contact select people directly when we know we're going to be available - at least there is a sense of loyalty with people we know. But we do find the 'meet' section of a Fab is exellent for finding out about events and who might be attending.

I once put a status saying I really feel like a chicken ball deal from the Chinese. Had about 50 guys offering to get me one.

Was ill before and put a meet request asking if anyone would get me a tin of pineapple rings, again loads of guys offering to buy me pineapple rings and bring them to me.

Think meet requests and status updates work better for women than men.

Try going to a club or to any socials organised in your area. They're a great place to meet like minded people without any pressure and an easier way to get to know people x

Yes, thinking about it a status is a better idea as all your friends and locals will be notified.

Maybe it’s timing and luck of the draw. I posted a meet earlier within 15 mins I had 100 people look at me. A few messages not many but two social meets (but op I guess it’s going to be hard for you as a man )

I know there’s a London social next sat afternoon posted by whiterabbits) other than that I don’t know what to suggest.
