It may be the fact there is less sunlight, it's colder, but I just can't be arsed!

In the summer months, my fitness levels were ok(ish) and felt slimmer, which made me feel good

I haven't exercised in weeks and it's such an effort to get motivated! Think my winter spread has come early

Anyone else feeling the same?

No pain no gain!!

Haha seriously tho, get outside for half an hour, the sun will boost your vitamin d levels and it’ll cheer you up

In countries further north where they get little if any sunlight at all but surely not in the UK,not clinical SAD anyway.

If you are bothered. You burn more brown fats in winter months.. these are known as hibernating fats as opposed to white fats cells that store sugar or energy. Brown fats burn far more calories that white fat and are harder to reach than in summer months, so if you are looking to get in shape, the winter months are perfect. Pep talk over

Yes I feel you, I've been lurgified last couple of weeks so couldn't exercise and now struggling to get motivated.

But local pool lovely and plenty of sun comes in as the design like a greenhouse so may go a swim later today or tomorrow

I had a topsy turvy year last year. I lost weight in winter and put it on in the summer. I'm now 10lb approximately heavier than I was this time last year and I have no motivation to make healthy meals. I'll still do the same amount of walking, but because it's cold and wet I won't go to the park so much with the kids. I can't do gym because of my arthritis, so I'll have to swim more. I hate swimming in cold weather.

I believe 3% but that's the full spectrum, from "winter blues" to full "depression".

I just find it a modern "problem" of people claiming they have conditions/illnesses such as SAD etc when they don't, I think it detracts from real suffers and allows cynics to waive their "sweeping statement" stick.

I was suffering terribly during winter months. As soon as it started to get dark I would cry and start to panic. It's a horrible illness.
