As a regular scroller on these pages I’ve noticed that there are way too many overly fussy people constantly correcting people’s spelling and grammar and moaning about the most pettiest things.

Not all of us are university graduates so the odd spelling mistake and what not should really be no issue.

Another thing i spotted was a new guy introducing himself and said he was struggling.

He had a seemingly good profile and write up but a comment followed with.

“The fact you call a women a female in your profile text put me off”

(Something along those lines)

I mean can it get any more fussier than that?

God help us guys is all I say lol.

Anything that helps you to filter out people who aren't matched with you is generally a good thing. As an open public forum that is somewhat anonymous for many, people tend to behave in ways that would probably be frowned upon and more discouraged in the wider world. Conversely, as long as forum rules are adhered to, there's not a pre-configuration for how responses must be.

That’s pretty lame for a rant to be honest, I didn’t feel true angst and frustrations while reading it, I would give it a C- at best, now try again and put more effort into the next one, I want to see those teeth gnashing and fists clenching mmkayyyy

As an ACTUAL graduate I find it hilarious because often the person criticising's OWN SPAG is shit!

I don't write on here as I would a professional piece and I have very intelligent friends who have PhD's etc etc who are also dyslexic or have other reasons they can't type/write well.

It's the content that matters. And I mean of the person as well as the written material.

Criticism of this kind of thing says FAR more about the critic than the person they're criticising.

It was me that wrote it but not in the way you said.

What I actually said to him, when he asked for advice, was: “This might seem really picky but I hate it when men call women “females”. “I’m looking to meet females...” But the rest is good and the pics are nice. I’d answer you if you messaged me. Really good luck”.

It’s not quite a sneering put-down is it? I said I’d answer him if he messaged me, which is the opposite of being too fussy surely.

I’m always polite and kind to people I chat to. Another man contacted me privately after that thread asking for some help with his profile and I spent some time helping him put across the things he wanted to say.

Still it’s nice to be the subject of a thread.

If you're THAT bothered about getting into the knickers of someone that corrects your grammar then fix your grammar. If you can't be arsed doing that, move on.

Moaning about things and people is a sure fire way to put a negative image on yourself.

"As a regular scroller on these pages I’ve noticed that there are way too many overly fussy people constantly correcting people’s spelling and grammar and moaning about the most pettiest things.

Not all of us are university graduates so the odd spelling mistake and what not should really be no issue.

Another thing i spotted was a new guy introducing himself and said he was struggling.

As a rant it’s not quite doing it for me. As a thinly veiled attack on forumites, it slightly misses the mark. OP: some of us use profiles and forum posts as filters. Poor spelling/grammar/text speak and lack of punctuation coupled with a one line profile = instant delete from me. But hey! So what? Move on. Live and let live. We’re all different and we’re all looking for different things as demonstrated within the posts.

Agreed.

Just find the overly fussy types annoying.

I mean because if a not so good speller you could be missing out on the time of your life.

I agree grammar is kind of important but not the be all and end all.
