Orgasmic Massage

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I was reading the June edition of Tatler at the hairdressers the other day and it had a feature on massage happy endings for women and where to buy them.

The piece discussed the Orgasmic Massage course (£199 for the initial training) and it got me wondering who would sign up for it. If you don't have a partner it's a bit odd to lay on the floor and let a stranger spend 15 minutes massaging the left upper quartile of your clitoris.

Would men really pay £199 to learn to do that?

I can see the benefits for women of £199 for therapy that claims so much IF it delivers on those claims, but who would do it?

As an aside, Tatler's September issue featured the etiquette of swinging and swap parties. I haven't read that one.

Blimey! No interest in orgasms or massage... or Tatler.

I have been away too long.

"If I had £199 to spare it could be interesting"

They stress it's not sexual... until it is. You can only touch the left hand upper quadrant of the clitoris and you have to keep at it for 15 minutes.

15 minutes on one spot!!! Do I get to practice on a real woman? Surely rubbing one part will get sore after while?

One spot for 15 minutes on a real woman. Ideally, you then practice it every day.

There's a tiny part of me thinking I should book onto this course just to see what it's about. But I wouldn't be pleased if I ended up partnered with a woman with long nails.

No need to spend £199 on my account, I can orgasm from a bog standard massage if it's done well and I'm in the mood. The idea of someone massaging my clit for 15 mins would be the ultimate turn OFF though

It's supposed to be more like a meditation than a sexual encounter.

The stuff I read was clear that you shouldn't do it to yourself as that blocks you from achieving the meditative orgasm.

It's orgasmic meditation not massage and yes people go to the courses as singles and match up with someone of the opposite sex. I did the course when the originator Nicole daedone was presenting it and met a nice guy from Austria. You can also go to group meets and ask others to OM with you, no issues. I don't know any guys locally who oracticevit but if I did I'd ask them. Don't knock it til you've tried it

I once had a job at a "tantric massage parlour" bullshit was it tantra though... it was just a very oily massage with a happy ending (sometimes for me too!)

I'd much rather have a massage like that than 15 minutes massaging sections of my clit

No because I don't have anyone to practice it with regularly. I'm sure if I did, it would. As an intro I'd read the book slow sex by Nicole daedone, cheaper option but then nothing like practice vs theory

So calling it tantric was to give it an exotic air?

I quite like meeting for a happy ending massage but I don't do it as much as I would like because some I have met think two minutes of patting my skin counts as the massage and they want to move straight to their happy ending.

We very much enjoy OM as well as tantric massage, both are very different and the key (for us) with both is that they're not about 'chasing' an orgasm.

Both have definitely enhanced our enjoyment of each other and self.

You'll find all of the instruction you need on YouTube or some other video sites. No need for a £199 course.

We would urge you to research it first and start to form an idea of what you personally hope to gain from it. If you partner with someone who has very different motives to you then it may be a waste of your time and money.

Thank you. I wouldn't rush to this. I might blow £200 buying shoes but other forms of therapy need much more research.

I hadn't heard of OM until I read the Tatler piece and then found it's being delivered a bus ride from home. It just got me thinking and Fab is the place that I can raise this particular thought. And, what do you know? Fab has people that have experienced this.

This technique isn't about getting off but turning on all of your physical and emotional receptors, as I understand it. But there are others here that have studied this.

A normal neck or calf massage is probably carried out by a professional masseuse in the same way, although the technique maybe the same our individual reaction to that massage is unique especially mentally.

It'sthe same with OM, in my opinion.

I think you mean Orgasmic Meditation - I attended one of their taster days in London. It's more of a "lifestyle group" (I found it a bit culty so didn't sign up for any subsequent courses). They use orgasm as a metaphor for how to live your life

Yes I find the concept will work for most. One said they found it culty, I found it very sales-y and I always find that offputting. The idea of the regular meet ups where you can find OM partners is good but not if it's just another chance to be sold to (I wasn't close enough to attend these so can't say if this is what it's like). I'd much prefer a regular partner to OM with.

Yeah pretty much. It was a sensual massage. Usually for an hour to 90 minutes. I'd massage their cock slowly for up to half an hour just as part of the rest of the massage, and then the happy ending was right at the end. But most of the customers said having the massage made their orgasm better

A key part of what makes OM so special and differentiates it from foreplay is that there is no expectation of reciprocal behaviour.

In our experience, it is incredibly rewarding if separated from leading directly into penetrative sex or 'sorting' the guy out.

Fully appreciate your point and wouldn't want to suggest that the partner doesn't get very aroused. We'd just suggest that at times choosing not to move directly to penetrative sex can hugely reward both participants in different ways both at the time and when you do have sex at a later time.

That said, as with everything else, its about finding what works for you and your partner.
