Anyone else watched this? Had a few complaints about how graphic the torture was but I thought it was quite tame campared to other stuff.

I saw it. Thought overall it was pretty good.

The torture stuff was graphic.

You have to remember that it was shown on the BBC and not on Netflix etc. Things like this are out of the norm for the BBC so it's not what most people expect which is why they probably got the complaints.

I watched it. Didn't think it was overly graphic - albeit not pleasant to watch. Certainly wasn't glorifying it and in many accounts is one aspect that has been carefully avoided. Presume those complaining have never looked at it on any depth previously

Worthing

The part where the hidden people were being saught out was very nail-biting. Regards the "gore"...seen worse in horror films.

Only part that bothered me was the the setting for 'Baddesley Clinton' blatantly wasn't.

The torture scenes reminded me of Braveheart.

Fucking harsh back in the day. I wouldn't last 2 seconds under torture, i'd blab and blab some more.

There and to the left a bit

Have watched it all on iPlayer and was interesting from a historical perspective and told the story totally differently from what we were taught as kids - hadn't appreciated the political and diplomatic aspects to it before.

Wasn't totally bowled over by it though.

Yeah some of the scenes are a little graphic for BBC but I don't think overly so considering what is easily available elsewhere.

Was a bit graphic for BBC but Jon snow was in it so I'm used to seeing graphic things now. Think we all are. Plus it's what they used to do back then anyway with regards to torture. Read about anything in history and it's all grizzly.
