After being on fab for a long time I feel I can speak for most single men.

All you ladies are beautiful In you own right.

And deserve to be what ever you want to be. BUT ... and I say BUT what’s with the long winded profiles and the rules and regs. Surely it’s all about the banter the fun and fuck the sex more banter and fun is better.... ohh and some beers

Alas, I've lost the ability to pick up on sarcastic posts so not sure if this is one of not. Surely when it comes to sex etc it should be all about regulations and what people want, No? I mean I wouldn't expect anyone to do anything they did not want to themselves. I like how different the profiles are here and also a fan of the more details ones as I get a sense of who they are. What do you think should happen instead in regards to profiles and what people are looking for? Could be I've missed the point

Well I find that women are exceptionally attentive so the more thought and expression in their profile the better chance I have of receiving a response when I use key words to demonstrate my understanding of their wishes. Although I too am not sure wether this is sarcastic.

If long winded and an arms length of requirments is their thing, who are we to argue?

I just want someone lovely, who I fancy, who I can chat too, oh hang on

Don't mind long winded profiles as long as they are funny and tongue in cheek.

Having a chuckle is greatly under appreciated.

I know exactly what I want, there are also different aspects to me, is it better for me to just put 'straight woman into men' and waste people's time contacting me when they aren't what I'm attracted to? As well as write thanks but blah blah blah loads of times a day, to receive replies asking why not, then more messages trying to persuade me. A long profile acts as a filter, the type of man I'm interested in reads before they contact people, it filters the quality men for me men who can't be bothered to put in five minutes of reading probably can't be bothered with much in life that takes effort. I try to reply to all polite messages but a few things on profiles I see that means I won't are using derogatory termes for women, complaining people who don't reply are rude ... the ones who clearly haven't remade my profile but ave a magic word in theirs you have to use to show you've read theirs ugh

If you had a single female profile here OP, you'd might know why.

Then again, there are those princesses on pedestals who assume people read their billboard of boredom

Even if I do meet the requirements, profiles that read quite shouty, with lots of rules and regs and demands really put me off.

I agree, I like to see fun profiles as that makes me think they'll be fun, negative profiles with demands make me think they'll be negative.

Long-winded profiles are ok. What is a downer is they put all the effort into a huge profile, we read it, we understand and maybe then make contact and after the usual ' it some effort in if you want a reply, no one liners etc etc'...

So you take the time and effort only to see it deleted, or replied to with one line or one word!!! Yet we have to put the effort in, how about some effort back, just saying like...

Long profiles do explain what people want so it's good to read, I do read all profiles I look at and even if I'm not what people are looking for, sometimes I make contact as something has made me laugh, or can see someone's point of view, sometimes it's just to chat, not for anything else...

Ok so did I just type all that, I best go sleep I think lol

It's just egos where in the real world they would get ignored.

Creeps quietly back into the man cave...

Wondering why what someone else outs on their profile or whst their preferences are is subject to so much comment.

Their profile their way and isn't that the way it should be?

Runs away and hides

Even the profiles that are obsessed with a bloke called Sydney Uni and what he can't do, or which misquote obscure sections of the US Commercial Code patiently cut and pasted form Facebook are informative.

Just not in the way the authors intended, perhaps.

If lots of single women on here, who're looking for men, feel the need to have lots of explicit rules and qualifications, what does that tell us about the single men on here?

Nothing whatsoever. We hear about men acting like bellends. We also here that every man controls his own destiny here. So all it shows us is a suggestion that the single lady in question has been contacted by some of the men who are bellends.
