Obviously it doesn't appeal to everyone but if you love either what would be your perfect meal of starters, main, sides, alcohol and pudding if you can eat anymore

Mine changes but last night was Poppadoms and pickles, samosas, king prawn chilli tarka Balti, Bombay potatoes, tikka naan, Anokha lager and i never have room for pudding

I keep meaning to get a good curry book and try some variations.

I've been told to get a few key spices and they hold the key

I had a very good Asian teacher. I have a cupboard full of spice, chutneys, lentils, split peas etc. I grow my own chillies and have mastered making bread. I buy my ingredients from an Asian supermarket. I love fresh okra and coriander is my fav spice.

I grow chillies as well and the local ethnic supermarket sounds like the way to go for the spices.

Fresh rather than packets I bet
