I try not to ask those sorts of questions because the answers can turn me off and I'd really rather not know.

If I spoke to them beforehand and they harper on about their believe or "wacky" lifestyle, then probably no. Unfortunately, people aren't always open when you first start talking to them.

I respect peoples' beliefs; I don't particularly want to listen to a sermon about them.

I can't understand why anyone would want to talk politics or religion on a first meet. Its asking for trouble. I thought the art is to find common ground and display the best version of yourself.

As long as its not offensive or vile wacky then I'd probably just steer the conversation onto something else. I'd like to think our meets are intelligent enough to be sociable rather than rocking up in a BNP T-shirt and preaching the word of god.
