After a recent thread entry by a guy who claims to be in one of the uniformed services, I think it's worth asking everyones opinion. How much someone's job influence your decision to sleep with them?

I can only express my feeling from my own experience .....

When I met my soul-mate she was working in the gally of an oilrig making cheese sandwiches or working in the laundry washing dirty underpants which she did in-between cleaning cabins and washing toilets .......

I was the senior operation manager for a fleet of over 180 offshore drilling rigs .......

Whilst I do agree with this, as I'd find it much easier to chat to someone with a profession in a similar field to one of us, I don't think we'd judge anyone for their career choice.

No of course that wouldnt matter at all.

The jobs that would put me off are probably specific to my personality. Couldn't be with a baliff, debt collector, bouncer or even a member of the armed forces. Compassion is key.

Excellent point. I'd never write off someone based on their profession, as a lot of people do actually manage to to go against type in all jobs, but I'd definitely have to try and get to know them more.

One of my friends is a part of the reason I asked this too, as he's in the armed forces, he's very much a squaddie type, and his opening line in bars is "alright girls, fancy showing an army lad where a good night can be had round here?". Or stuff of a similar nature. He literally leads in with the job firstz and, quite strangely in my eyes, on occasion it seems to really work.

No it doesn't. I think people have preconceived ideas about certain people in certain professions and fall for that image.

Reality is usually quite different. Dint think I fit my stereotype and I'm sure you don't.

Personaly i find those with high flying executive jobs can look down on certain proffessions,, i myself dont work, why? Because both my parents died 24 yr ago and i since have cared full time for my brother( autistic) and sister( learning difficulties) and raised 3 kids,, to me i get rewarded more by a 'thank you' for doing something for them, or a hug of my kids,, that to me means more than a good wage in the bank.If people want to shrug at me for not being employed thats their choice, im no different to anyone else because of it, family come first.

I know a very many "pretty idiots" who manage to do very well for themselves getting numerous promotions and skating by on their looks. I've even witnessed managers literally spoon feeding them answers to management course so that they can have the credentials to back them up in future roles.

There re certain professions I avoid as they are almost certainly employed by a partner organisation amd I really don't want or need the risk of being proffesionally compromised for the sake of a shag.

Other than that no it doesn't matter. When I was pretty much on my arse living in London I spent 3 months earning mnimum wage in a call centre which made me realise how little a job matters to define people.

I used to say that but I'm now retired with a good company pension. My other half is self employed, runs his business from my home and struggles to make ends meet.

It's my house, everything is in my name and I'll be honest paying all the bills with little contribution isn't conducive to a happy life.

I admire those who don't mind carrying a partner: my kids never lived in my house for free!

Maybe but I’m trying to think of what some of their professions where when you google any it always says burglar/rapist/necrophiliac/murderer etc it’s bit weak on profession unless you study a bit

We had a social with a guy who was very senior in the health service (to quote him). We arranged a meet and he cancelled as “had to meet the Health Minister”, we rescheduled and then he couldn’t book the hotel as had cash flow problems etc etc . I think our point is he was constantly trying to emphasise how important he was, he then tried getting Slims number so he could “talk to her privately “ , which was when we hit the block button. So job titles don’t matter to us, but don’t try and impress people by how important you allegedly are....

Yes but I’m sure there’s a builder out there waiting to steal his crown and the Man Russian one Chikatilo they reckon he did 100’s far more than the 56 they got him for and I don’t know whether just putting someone to sleep for good should be 1/2 point cause compared to some of them like gein ,kemper etc they’re proper crackers

You get an idea about people from the lives they've led and the jobs they do. It all helps in the decision making process, but the only issue that's truly relevant to us playing is do we like them or not and are we mutually attracted. We're both professionals who wear a uniform for a living, but never see it as a selling point, or a reason to believe we're better than anyone else. We say what we do in conversation as you'd expect, but don't use it as a profile highlight.

I work in the adult industry. It's not a secret, I'am happy and honest to tell people if they so wish to know however it is a/my job and I personally don't see why i need to disclose it on my profile or in initial messages.

It never bothered me when I meet, bar one well that freaked me out did reports for the coroner I tried so hard too blank it by the 2nd time no just no. Plus it's a bonus when they freely Tell you, being a single female living alone the to do list appears haha
