Good grief you've just reminded me I have Nighthawks at the Diner which was the first live album he made .....

Was there a track called "Better off without a wife"?

Closing Time is one of my all time favourite albums, never managed to get on board with the growly stuff, but should try again

For a second I thought you were going to put RIP ...panic for a second when I saw your post.

Love him, got my Ex into him, listened to Rain Dogs just yesterday.

But I can admit his voice to some is like nails down a blackboard or Angelic to his fans

Absolutely love Tom Waits, amazing songwriter, I even think his version of 'Somewhere' is better than the original

"Never heard of him. "

Real gravely voice ...... often featuring him almost talking the lyric rather than singing .....

I would liken him to the Travelling Wilbury that never was

Cramlington

Fabulous songwriter with an eye for character like a Edward Hopper painting, but his singing is a taste I never acquired.
