What do you class as average, ample, voluptuous etc?

It's a weird question but it seems I have some women's profile on here and other sites saying there body type is average, when in fact they are thin/athletic.

Also some say curvy, when they are heavily obese.

This is not a body shaming thread, far from it.

Nobody's perfect and in fact I consider myself to have a beer belly.

But I was just wondering about other people's thoughts and opinions?

Does size matter to you?

And I don't mean the size of genetalia.

It's subjective to the person describing themselves. Countless threads have gone before, asking the same question. They usually descend into the usual slanging matches/body shaming/insulting ravings.

Why is it aimed just at women then? You class yourself as average and then on here you say you have a beer belly.

Some might say that means you’re not average, but if that’s how you see yourself why not let others use the body type they feel reflects them?

It’s their opinion of themselves, they decide what to put so who are we to say otherwise

And no it makes no difference to me how someone describes them self and why would it ?

"I'm volumptuous! "

Is that bigger or smaller than curvy? I never know which one to pick. You look great though.

Wish they didn't put such a subjective label to ourselves as. It's opinion based. Some would say I'm fat some curvy others fabulous. I describe my self as having large boobs bum and belly. Pictures and real life describe me better

It’s one I struggled with. I’m ‘relatively’ slim, but definitely have curves. But I also have photos, so regardless of how I choose to label myself, others’ can make their own judgement.

Because I don't really browse men's profiles, since I don't find them sexually attractive. It's an open question. But I wrote it from my perspective.

I say let people describe themselves however they choose.

As long as there are clear pics ,you can decide if they are what you like etc.

I think its subjective,I put ample as I am .

I agree, but sometimes it's hard to describe in one word. I have broad shoulders a big back, muscly arms and a beer belly. So it's hard to put into one word.

A world of my own

I chose fabulous because I'd rather not be defined by my body shape.

Also, it doesn't matter what you choose. Over time someone will always try to class you as something else

I prefer my men to be toned/athletic, but then I do class myself as petite so that is what suits me

I don't think I've ever looked at the descriptors that people use to describe their body type. I rely on pictures to make my mind up whether I find them attractive. People's ideas on what each category means varies so greatly that it's meaningless.

Btw I chose fabulous... because... Well in my eyes I am. If others don't agree with that then they don't have to bother with me

And I have big boobs, a big bum and hips, yet quite a small waist in proportion. So I put myself as curvy since it describes my shape the best from the limited options. It also describes a shape not a size, which avoids a whole load of semantic issues. I'm actually slightly smaller than average statistically speaking but since I always visualise average as less podgy than I am it didn't feel right to select it. Therefore curvy was the logical choice - but I have previously described myself as ample and large with no discernible difference to how people respond to me. I don't think anyone even noticed the change since I have pictures and the descriptors are utterly subjective.

I just look at the pics on display and decide if I like what I can see.

Rarely even look at what someone has listed themselves as.

Trust me, I am not as delicate as some men seem to think, but sometimes it does take a bit of persuasion

Average these days is fat so I guess that's why some choose not to use that description.

I don't think fat is an opinion. You can be in denial or not arsed but really we all know if we're in the best of health or not.
