Maybe a bit of a long shot but is there any motorcycle mechanics local to us on here or could anybody recommend a good one?

General maintenance can easily be done at home with the aid of a reasonable tool kit and a Haynes manual, what bike is it?

I've stripped every bike I've ever owned (about 25) to its last nut and bolt, then completely restored and rebuilt them, not for about 12 years though. Mechanics I can do given the right tools, but the electrical side I leave to someone else

About £90 for a replacement from mandp.co.uk , small black box with cooling fins, 2 sets of wires coming out (1 set all yellow wires), located right hand side above engine case and bolted to frame, very easy job to replace

Colour coded wiring diagrams look like they've been drawn by a toddler with crayons to me no use at all.

Fantastic advice , I'm not completely useless but must admit the electrics on a bike get me concerned every time I go near them, now a 2 stroke YPVS much easier

Check the part number if you're gonna get one, or ring m&p and they'll check for you

I've had a couple of TZR125's and most of a 350ypvs

He had a mechanic he had been using for years an independent but his become a little unreliable, unsure as to why he hasn't used street bike tbh I just know he was looking for a new one so thought I'd make myself useful and try find one.

Plastic is ok as long as it's fast plastic

If it`s actually a motorcycle then you may mean v-max.

Whoah, hold ya horses there. Actually, now we know that it's only a scooter, that might be the most sensible suggestion of the thread
