"I'm a personal trainer. You beat me on the muscle mass OP, but not by much ![]() ![]() Squats.. My favourite, deadlifts 2nd! It's not all about calories, are you getting the right balance 30/30/40 in food groups, plus check your macro/micro nutrients? If you're looking to build mass, are you taking protein/pre/post workout supplements? And mix up your workouts, your body, muscle groups will become efficient if you stick to the same excercises.

"I don't think living a routine is healthy for the mind ![]() Depends I guess, personally I work for extended periods of time in front of a screen (10+ hours, which isn't healthy anyway) so getting out and exercising gives me a release. It also focuses my mind, after a workout I can usually come home and fire off 50 emails without thinking about it

"If you're not gaining weight you're simply not eating enough. The majority of people over estimate the amount of calories they consume. Liquid calories are a good way of doing it, I use them as 5000 cals of solid food is too much. Full fat milk, oats, peanut butter, banana, whey protein. You can easily get 800 calories plus out of them. " I've been tracking calories on myfitnesspal which has been super helpful, but never accurate like you say. It's more to do with apetite than anything for me. Before I started I was always underweight, right now I'm just fighting against my metabolism. Trying to keep on top of 2 mass gainer shakes plus oats in the morning and 3 other meals throughout the day. Bit uncomfortable to be full constantly though ![]()

Eat more calorie dense foods. Scrap the oats and eat something with higher G.I. Pasta, rice e.t.c. You basically want to spike your insulin response as often as you can so eat frequently. Add in nuts and olive oil for easy calories.

Do that twice a day and with the nuts that's the best part of 500 calories and you'll notice no change in how full you feel.

Bad for the knees. | |||
