Dan Brown in general doesn't impress me all that much. I don't keep up with what he writes these days, so....? Maybe I'd like it?

I liked dan browns earlier books but was disappointed by symbol. It felt like he had to contrive an ending to make it work but for me it didn't work. I am thinking about getting origin.

And I like graham hancock stuff haven't read any for a few years though so don't know his latest

I haven't read his stuff for a while neither , - but there is a book about submerged world's, - which contains a couple of parts of India that interest me, - for future travel too

I've got around to reading it today. It's in the same style as the others. Lots of cliff hanger chapter endings. Descriptions of art and buildings sound like Wikipedia enteries. Plot moves quickly and the writing isn't that good, but the ideas make you think. In the end not Shakespeare but enjoyable! And a lot better that the lost symbol!

Read it last night after seeing this post and yeah it's the usual Dan Brown, pacey and art/architecture descriptions scattered as fillers . Whilst he's not the greatest writer in the world he does base it all on some great ideas and this isn't any different .

Loving the idea behind Edmonds final presentation.

I've never been able to get into a Dan Brown book which is a shame as I like the genre, I do like David Gibbons and Chris Kuzneski but Graham Hancock has been highly recommended so he's next on list of authors to purchase.

He is an acquired taste as he writes in a very excitable manner. He would be unknown if not for the da Vinci code. His first 3 books sold less than 10,000. His forth 87 million...

Try the Steve Berry 'Cotton Malone' series.

Very Dan Brown-esque, with a epilogue where the author separates the fact and fiction he uses in the novel.

Maybe it is time to try again as I do like the subject matter, but I can normally read anything so I was disappointed when I couldn't get into it
