Jade Richards.

My brother rang me to say "you have to listen to this girl!"

I've just watched the re-run on ITV+1. I heard all the "gushing" of the judges, the weeping, the emotions!

Why? She was at least a half tone, if not a full tone flat all the way through; she sang bum notes, she slid up to the upper notes, instead of distinctly going from one to the other.

She lacked punch with her voice not holding onto the notes. There was no power in her voice. She sang from her throat, not from the pit of her stomach. The judges must have cotton wool in their ears.

Adele should sue Jade torturing this version!

And my brother just called me to say exactly the same. This was "dumbing down of TV" at its worst.

If this girl ever gets a record deal, some so called executoves need their heads examined.

So the opinions of three very well known, very successful SINGERS, and one music mogul count for nothing then?

I thought the girl turned in an excellent performance and both Siren and I had goosebumps listening to her. Sure she needs refining and an image consultant wouldn't go amiss but the raw talent is most definately there.

Almost everyone on here has been caught up in the televised hyped up guff! This includs the judges; they'd vote a gorilla singing the National Anthem, if it made them more popular!!

This girl doesn't have a voice; she's average! Her voice is not at all exceptional. Maybe with some work on her voice she might make the grade.

You're wrong. When two people watching the same performance for the very first time both get goosebumps at the exact same moment then that has to tell you that the person singing has definately got something. I'm no big fan of Adele and if Siren wasn't sitting next to me I wouldn't have had a clue who's song it was, so without the knowledge of the original singer to compare this girl against I found she delivered it expertly and I'm convinced that she will be in the final, if not win it.

We are well aware of the hype, but this girl Jade was better than average. Adele has been singing live on Jonathan Ross, even she missed a few notes, albeit she was brilliant.

Yeah but the other 3 Judges would see the contestants with talent (like tonight) and send them through 3-1, you'd just be known as the grumpy judge who couldn't recognise raw talent if it jumped up and slapped you in the face!

Look, everyone has their own _iewpoint. You _iewed her from your own set of values, I _iew it from mine.

I see it from the angle that this girl doesn't possess the vocal strengths or aspects that make her stand out from everyone else.

I was brought up with music all around me, from a young age. I've performed in concert venues, cathedrals, churches and so on across Europe and the UK since my days in secondary school, so I appreciate good music and equally good singers or performers.

You rate her from your own parameters; I rate her against what I _iew as a good performance. She won't win! There are plenty of others whom I'm sure will take that title.

She's had her 15 minutes of fame!

The type of singing you have been involved in is so far removed from the popular singing the X Factor is looking for. The vocal constraints/demands are far less severe than in choiral singing where someone singing a bum note can stand out like a sore thumb. There is quite a bit of forgiveness for bum notes in pop music, and even those who specialise in non-regular vocal singing (like Amy Winehouse for example) make a very lucrative career out of it.

I'd go as far to say that BECAUSE of your specific musical background you are probably the least qualified to judge pop music singers.

Agree, this is a different thing altogether, I'm a singer myself, so also experienced and she's good, none of us are saying she's going to win, but things will change for her.

You don't know what different genres of music I've been involved in!

But the general disciplines required within all musical groupings are the same throughout. Yet, modern generations and performers don't get that input, so their performance is poorer as a result.

I'll agree that I wouldn't be the best person to judge pop music singers. But it is equally shameful for people to be given a judgement from Industry experts in such gushing terms and build someone's hopes up, when in reality she will get nowhere!

Totally agree with Genguy here...I thought I was the only person in the UK who thought she was flat here and there...her voice lacked mid range..she sang a sad song and the tide of emotion added to an ok-ish performance.

With the help of a voice coach she might improve though...but one thing that will go against her is, sadly, 'saleability'...they are looking for a little pretty girl/boy star/starlet who is going to feature on album covers...and they will take that into consideration, hence why those two wankers jedward got as far as they did..love em or hate em they looked the part...its a sad state of affairs but thats the music/media industry.

She might pass boot camp and the judges final selections...but I dont think she will make the final 16..

They didn't like her looks her age or her dress sense, she needed voice coaching and stylists.

SuBo seemed to go against all the preconceived ideas of what 'saleability' consisted of, but she still went on to do well, is still doing well and is no one-hit wonder.

I think Dawn will go on to great things, maybe not this year, as she is still very young, but one day.

If she didn't look the way she does, no one would've cried. People weren't crying cause the performance was powerful because it certainly wasn't. If your going to sing Adele, at least be half as good as the original.

Just like everywhere folks .. some areas you don't walk alone in the dark LOL

Not fair she was chucked out though .. lovely lassie I have heard [my friends daughter knows her well from singing in the local pubs] and she has a fantastic voice!

On the plus side .. my phonebill won't be going up as I won't be able to vote for her 10 times every week now ;-( LOL

its all a massive fix and the judges get told what to do! all the rubbish with the groups! one original group going to the live shows...rest manufactured and stories for tv _iewing...every year novelty acts go through to get people talking about it and people voting for a laugh.....just one big manufactured karaoke comp!

Cheesh, this lot are fookin crap. Not seen a decent act yet and there looked to be some promising acts in the auditions but it seems the judges have had a temporary lapse of sanity in selecting this bunch of average joes.

Constant screaming,

People singing like yanks,

Men singing like women

'you made the song your own'

'you nailed it/smashed it'

'you look like you belong on the stage' 'that just blew me away'....

Having to hit the volume control every time the adverts come on/go off

More constant over the top high pitched girlie screaming

The 'tops of the wave' from the audience (if you must do it people, at least try and do it in time with the music!!)

Sob stories...

She's a disgrace to Cheltenham and quite frankly, she makes me want to slit my wrists and vomit at the same time!

She's never gonna win, half the country can't stand her and it reminds me of that evil elf from 2010, Katie Twatissel....... why the frick did Louis choose her?
